Okay, so anyway, I know there aren't many people still interested in an ancient story - and even less in author excuses - but real life has been a... thing for the last few years. I lost my interest in writing, had a lot on my plate, and a whole raft of other, more interesting stories that I will never share with anyone. I'm selfish like that. Plus I'll need to save something for the talk-show circuit.
But I have been getting back into the flow of things. I truly, truly want to finish this story. The people who decided to read it all those years ago deserve something more than just an ambiguous nothing point. They deserve some damn respect. It wouldn't be write to leave the story unfinished.
So yes, it will be updated. When? No idea. But I will only be publishing updates once I have the rest of the story finished. There will not be another interruption. But I will be more open about what's going on and staying in touch for the few of you still interested.
I've created a small little Discord chat room for some friends of mine I hang out in just for that purpose. You can click HERE if you want to join. Feel free to harass me if I'm not writing. If the link expires (I'm no tech-wizard like you youngsters) then just, I dunno, PM me or respond here or something and I'll send an invite that way.

As much as I'd love to see Asylum finished, I think the thing that makes me happiest about this post is to hear that you've rediscovered your motivation. That's a precious and elusive thing, and it usually means you're in a decent place.
I look forward to the end of our heroes' ordeal, whenever, and however it arrives =)

Honestly, even if you hopped on to say that it's canceled forever that'd still be a better sight than ambiguity. Glad to hear though that a conclusion might actually be something to read! This story is amazing, and I myself am in the "is this real or just a crazy Twilights dream? Are we really seeing magical effects, or is it all just more and more hallucinations?"
I haven't read it in ages, and that kind of mystery STILL tugs at my curiosity without having to re-read it again, unlike most stories.

This story is a large part of what inspired me to make my plague doctor costume.

I am always pleasantly surprised when I log in to see an author update after a long period of inactivity. Even after all this time, the words you have written have had such an impact on so many of us. Do not worry about when, we can wait for as long as we need to. There are plenty of other stories to read while we wait.

I haven't started reading it because I don't want to be left hanging. It's been sitting in my read later for ages because of that, but I eagerly await a day when it is finished, so that I can finally read it.
It's one of my most anticipated reads, right up there with The Night is Passing and starting the whole SS&E saga with Austreoh- among others.
