I have an idea to explain where Reginald came from, among other things.
First I need to go back and read the other two stories, and make sure it doesn't contradict anything.

I bet you can't find the song this came from. It's from a parody of the show, and all but the latest episode have been banned from Youtube based on legal issues.
Here's my take. What if Atar is Reginald? Both appear to be immortal, and both have mostly unexplained powers. (I'll get back to this)
What if in an alternate timeline Atar was the element of Loyalty, and when he used it on discord his latent abilities affected the elements in a negative way and created the "Dark world", which then lead to his Death at the "hands" of Darkstar, and his regeneration into Reginald.
Things went to crap and the world was about to be plunged into darkness when he used his reality bending abilities to go back in time. (while also using up quite a bit of power) Reginald then changes things enough to stop the Darkstar from winning, and also make sure that Atar would die eventually. (or he would never exist.
This is my the best way I could come up with to kill Atar.
Remember, this is only a rough draft, and probably has some plot holes I still have to fill.
