There is a new threat in Equestria...the Shadow Ponies. And they are much more dangerous than any previous foe. The Shadow Ponies are lead by an evil entity that the Mane 6 thought that they were rid of for good...Nightmare Moon. In order to stop this new threat, the Mane 6 will have to find and team up with a pony that is said to be no more than a legend...the Dark Defender...who happens to be a shadow pony himself.
But how will the Mane 6 defeat the new form of Nightmare Moon...if her destruction would mean the death of an innocent filly?

Nice update and interesting prolouge as it seems that there maybe someing a bit deeper within this story that what was actually given...maybe a bond that Luna will form with the young filly Sweetie Belle.

I also plan on doing a short story on Dax's background. How she was raised, how her parents were murdered (DUN DUN DUUUUNNN), And when Celestia took her in. If you would like your characters to be in the story, don't hesitate to ask.
To those of you who have commented on how I used bacon when ponies are herbivorous, I edited it, replacing bacon with hash browns.

I actually started this story before I knew which term to use. But "Pegacorn" is a legitimate alternative for "Alicorn". Then again, so is "Winged Unicorn" and "Horned Pegasus".

I would've like to have made this chapter longer. But in my opinion, it was a short but strong chapter. I am still working on the story to Dax's back story. So that will be up soon (hopefully).
To all of the Luna fans out there, I'm sorry for raising her spirits then have them come crashing down like I did. Believe me when I say I don't like hurting ponies' feelings like that. I mainly did it to show how much she actually cares for her childhood friend.
