The concept of what is ‘real’ is an interesting subject, truly, and is oft debated to this day, and shall be for eternities to come. Lines of thought around it have brought the most brilliant of mares down into madness, all while being ignored by those who cannot comprehend such madness.

Ignorance may be bliss, but sometimes one may be forced to ask themselves what they truly are, if they are real or merely the product of another’s imagination, and if they have any free will at all... Some may find these questions less hazardous, and simply accept it all, but others will push the bounds of what it means to be real, bending the truth to their will, and all for the sake of a simple infatuation...

Excited to see Skellinore, I presume?
There’s so few fics of her here; only three of them when I searched her name, so I can definitely understand that.

Although, I don’t blame people for not wanting to write a character that has practically zero personality or actions to her name.
That was definitely the most difficult part of working on this, and I’m pretty sure it comes through to casual readers, that Skelly has a rather generic personality, and that’s very intentional, as she was always meant to be just a generic enemy, and is really only now getting any more depth added to her.

When someone takes an 'obviously ridiculous or silly' premise, and proceeds to SHOW that it DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ridiculous or silly.
:pinkiehappy::yay:

Real thought obviously went into this, to make a surprisingly good ship and shipfic.

(and that's just what I thought after reading chapter 1 and not having noticed there was ANOTHER chapter. :twilightsmile:)

I appreciate it.
And yeah, the idea of falling in love with a fictional character is something that’s been done quite a lot before, and I really didn’t want to feed into cliche with it. Part of that was not having it overly romantic, and the whole dynamic between Sunset and Skellinore being a bit vague and messy, mainly due to Sunset’s conflicted feelings and Skellinore’s ignorance—though, I did want to point in that direction at least, which is why I had Rarity there at the end to tease them about it.
Similar stuff with the possible drama that could’ve been there; stories like these often have excessive amounts of drama, with the lead having to fight for their right to love, or whatever, but considering all of the stuff the characters have been through, as well as their own eccentricities and trust in each other, they’d far more likely be at least accepting of it. The drama I did have was really just on Twilight’s existential crisis, which given her own madness, feels fitting. (Though, I honestly just mainly added that to have most of those characters out of the picture so I could keep the story more focused on the relevant characters.)
