When Trixie and Starlight are heading for a vacation in the human world, something goes wrong with the portal, leaving the fluffy blue pony in a world where any grey, stone-faced girl may come across and do with her as they please.

My entry for the StarTrixMaud Contest (MauXie Category)

Chapters (1)
Comments ( 2 )

thank you for the Contest entry! looking forward to reading it!

The Great and Powerful Trixie was almost always the most confident creature in any room, often leaping faithfully with no double-checking and putting on a strong face when confronted with any of her many mistakes.

yes, that is certainly a way for Trixie to interpret her own character. love it!

Quickly casting a spell often used after firework misfires, she flipped onto her back and saw clearly the large silver mirror implanted on the base of a marble statue, the glow she recalled seeing on the other side vanished.

also love this mental image of Trixie just yeeting herself through a magic wormhole for no reason because she really believes in herself

She kept this in mind as she unlocked the school with a key that one of her sisters, Pinkie, had for some inexplicable reason, before heading inside and going to the music room at the back of the building.

that does sound like Pinkie

The pony paused for a moment, seeming to think as she looked at the human for some time, squinting slightly as though she was attempting to remember something. “M-Maud?” It eventually asked for confirmation, tone tinged with hope.

really nice detail with her experience with Marble helping Maud know better how to approach Trixie. also interesting that the copy-paste here didn't preserve the slight font shrinkage i noticed you used for Trixie's voice here.

“Trixie brushes her mane one hundred times to attain this beauty and she shall not have some foolish alien dishevel it!”

very canon, if this endless loop of Trixie brushing her mane is anything to go by

Maud, however, was still left in the storage room with the two backpacks of her classmates, befuddled by what had just happened.

as was i, the reader! agh, it really is a fascinating premise! Trixie ending up stuck in EqG world but still in her pony form, and Maud of all people having to be the one to take care of her and guide her and discover what it's like to be the main character. it does sort of make sense as an ending, with human Trixie bursting onto the scene and stealing the show as well as the pony, but this could have been a really interesting version of the standard human-finds-pony-in-human-world tale (which i see some of the tropes of in this) for its premise alone, as well as the human character actually being an interesting character (by being Maud). anyway, wish i had more!
