I'm older than your average brony, but then I've always enjoyed cartoons. I'm an experienced reviewer, EqD pre-reader, and occasional author.

This story is a sequel to A Wish for the Ages

Rarity never thought she’d be asked to reprise her role as Princess Platinum, especially not this way, and especially not involving her sister as well. But she understands the importance to Equestria and Unicornia.

Even if it might mean that she can’t be Rarity ever again.

An honorable mention in Imposing Sovereigns IV, using the prompt Princess Platinum/Courage

I could consider this canon! Absolutely outstanding!

I appreciate you reading! Did you dive into this one right away, or did you read the prequels first?

I ended up finding this one first, though it’s possible I’d seen the other ones in passing. I’m curious what you did to make it so that Sweetie’s cutie mark ended up being the one she got from Crusaders of the Lost Mark, as opposed to the one you gave her earlier for singing

That actually doesn't come up. I wrote the original story (the middle of the three) before that episode came out, so there wasn't any canon to match at that point. But the whole trilogy deals enough with magic undoing parts of her history that it can be interpreted to work with that canon once Twilight gets involved and sets another wave of magic in motion. In any case, you don't explicitly see Sweetie Belle get her canon cutie mark.

Indeed. I had noticed the change was subtle enough, because despite her getting her mark in this story whilst in the boutique, this particular one had her explaining other fillies marks, which of course had me drawn more into her character here. It was a tad jarring when I realized the other stories had been written years ago before COLM, but didn’t take away too much

It’s true, this doesn’t stand very well on its own, but having read the prequels, I still enjoyed it immensely. Great personal drama for Rarity and further fascinating revelations for precisely what happened back in the day. Thank you for a wonderful tale of the tension between harmonious Honesty and political expediency. Best of luck in the judging.

I’m so glad you went back to this storyline. It was a great excuse for me to go back and read the prequels- I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the world-building around the ceremonies.

A good continuation of your series. I was a little lost in parts, but that just means I need to reread the prequels :)
