This story is a sequel to Thomas and Friends: Tales from the Mainland Volume 3
After their superb work on the Island of Sodor back in November, the Mane 5 (and Misty) are invited back to Sodor to help out. Construction work on a new quarry and rail line has led to dramatically increased traffic, but mysterious events, an oddly unsympathetic controller, and numerous other problems conspire to through the Island into chaos. Can our heroes discover the truth about the Secrets of Sodor before the island descends into pandemonium?
Based on the 2015 Thomas and Friends special Legend of the Lost Treasure, and incorparating the plot of the 6th Chapter of Make your Mark as well as the Make your Mark special Secrets of Starlight. Written as part of the 40 years of Thomas and Friends celebrations, and the grand finale of the Opaline arc of the FalmouthVerse.
awesome chapter mate keep it up can't wait for the next chapter
great start mate keep it up
Neat.
Right...
Or just go extra slow and cautiously.
Ya think!?
I've been meaning to read that G5 eqg story, but kept on forgetting. Maybe I might try it soon. But that all depends on if I'm up for it as atm I'm not certain.

Glad you enjoyed.
11865706
Glad you enjoyed.
11865782
1. Indeed. Izzy builds things!
2. Yes.
3. Not even that would work, unfortunately
4. Nope.
Quite an intro here!
Well nice to see that some time has passed on Sodor for our other friends.
As for Thomas’ predicament, I hope it wasn’t too serious, but I have to wonder why the switch changed so quick. (Other than another engine coming in)
11867318
Thank you. I wanted to up my game for these, so decided to give it a whirl.
11867322
More shall be revealed for tomorrow. I thought it made sense for the characters to have noticably aged, given about 9 years of real world time have passed since the ending of Retold Adventures (hence why Spike has his G5 VA here).
The next chapter shall give you some more insight into that.

Not this again.
be a useful engine?"*
I believe the episodes referenced were faulty signal, Gordon and the mechanic, Percy and the signal, down the mine, Percy and the magic carpet, though i can't remember the other ones I'm afraid.
Who knows. Better than saying 'special special' or 'causing confusion and delay' a lot.
voice, though."*

I'm pretty sure his number is 1014, not 1044.
11867510
Glad you enjoyed.
11867591
1. Agreed. Marion firmly outstayed her welcome on that special.
2. My A key seems to be having some trouble working.
3. The snapped cables and rain are references to real life accidents; the 1876 Abbots Ripton crash was partly caused by a snapped signal cable.
4. Yes.
5 and 6. Fixed.
7. Thanks for spotting that. Quite why the show has characters constantly running with innacurate numbers I don't know, as to establish the correct numbers would only take a quick Google search.
11867723
7. yep.
11867933
Perhpas it can be used as a running gag.
11867944
maybe.
11867980
Eh. Still, it's an idea.
I still can’t understand how Marion is so imbecilic on her silly beliefs of the Arlesdale engines being magic.
Well, I’m glad to see Edward and Gordon are on Thomas’ side for this case. As for Sir Topham Hatt, I don’t know what his deal is, but I get a feeling there’s something much more deeper than what meets the eye.
T’was nice to see Pipp, Sophie, James and Rarity unite again.
And we now have Ryan present, but, who’s gonna be his driver?
11868100
I get the impression she was written to be silly.
Trust me; there's a good reason for him being a bit of an ass.
Given they got along so well first time it only made sense to reunite them.
More on that soon.
11868146
Yeah, but there’s a limit to have much I can take.
Given everything that’s happened in this Falmouth Verse, it doesn’t surprise me. I’m just glad Thomas isn’t on his own here.
Hopefully we’ll get to see the Falmouth reunite with their counterparts in good time.
Of course.
11868149
Likewise. Comedy is a fine art; underdo it and it turns into cringe. Overdo it and it becomes annoying.
Well, as that breezie put it, 'nopony is alone who has friends.'
Indeed.
Yup.
11868362
Aye, and Marion’s light headedness is more than I can take.
Indeed, there is no greater treasure than friendship.
11868364
Good thing they dialled her appearances back in later episodes (though the cynic in me suspects that was partly due to budget constraints; the plan had been to recast Merlin, but when the character was revived they discovered Hugh Bonneville happened to be available to reprise his role).
11868387
I'm glad they did too. (Well regardless how it came to be, I'm still glad they cut back on it)
11868390
Agreed.
It has happened Thomas.
from red to green*
You have done something similar in the past.
Did he just do what I think he did!
Oh crap!
Only time will tell, once the next chapter is out.
look at the tracks never mind the view

Okay, now I'm convinced. There is a conspiracy of espionage in the shadows. And I know who is behind it.
As for the chop to bits thing, I have no clue what's going on or what they're talking about, but it can't be good.
11868482
1. Indeed, but not in this continuity.
2. Fixed.
3. Indeed.
4. He did indeed. Something fishy is going on.
5. Indeed. Kaboom.
6. Indeed you shall.
11868513
Agreed, but something seems to be up.
11868514
Glad you enjoyed.
11868573
Keep that thought in your mind.
Are you alluding to STH shredding the accident report?
11868704
Indeed.
No, the conversation on the phone.
11868705
Now I follow.
11868741
Then I shall say no more.
11868742
Good.
great chapter mate keep it up cant wait for the next chapter
Opaline reminds me of a female version of adolf hitler
Are you trying to have Sodor lose trust, faith and confidence in Sir Topham Hatt?
Judging by this line, I'm guessing he won't have the same personality as he did in the show?
Who even is Ryan's driver?
Oh boy.
That's the last thing I'd expect him to say Thomas of all engines!
Interesting.
Whatever she has planned, it won't be good!
11869246
Glad you enjoyed.
11869249
I think there is a valid comparison there. Both figures are demagogues partly motivated by race ideology.
11869287
There's a plot reason for this. It shall become clear later on.
Will you have STH regret punishing Thomas?
11869308
1. Ryan is being portrayed here much closer to the original draft; in the original version of the story Ryan was a rude and arrogant locomotive. TV Tropes speculates that the personality was reworked to avoid fans drawing comparisons to Ryan Hagan, a Thomas fan who has a reputation for being rude and arrogant.
2. Wait and see.
3. It most certainly is bad.
4. Something is clearly
wonkywrong.5. Indeed. What could it be leading to?
6. Indeed not.
11869467
Wait and see.
11869470
Why did you feel Sir Topham Hatt lied to Thomas in the story?
11869479
Eh?
