There's a madness to my method.

T

Crispin Apple and Cortland Belle have never met. Crispin is the son of a world famous designer, the beautiful, talented, Rarity Belle. Cortland, the son of Canterlot's number one apple farmer and distributer, Applejack Apple.

When the boys meet at Camp Everfree the year they turn 14, their worlds will turn upside down.

Why do they look so much alike?

What about the picture that clearly shows their mother's in the Camp's mess hall? The picture that says they were here, together, in 2016.

Is this story related to the movie of the same name?

11086259
Kinda? It's the same concept but with wildly different characters ( an AU if you will). (next chapter shall reveal the idea behind it) :moustache:

What are the odds that "Aunt Sunset" set all this in motion because she was sick of their bullcrap?

Sorry for the late update, the holidays and a death in the family has consumed all my free time. I am now back and writing again (yay?)

.... Who's been spilling my secrets?? Jk, Aunt Sunset always seems to know more than she lets on and that's all I'll say for now :pinkiegasp: :scootangel:

eh, feels like it's rushing to twin acceptance, feels like the angst and wonder should be stretched out a bit more

Keep it up and sorry for your loss

So when does Pinkie or another figure out the ruse but not rat them out?

11105767
Now what would the fun of reading it be if I gave it away?? :moustache: Soon, Soon we shall see. :pinkiecrazy:

But seriously, the jig is already up (with at least one person), the twins just don't know it yet.

11105624
That's a fair assessment, I do intend to edit and possible extend this once I've actually finished it.

11107940
alrighty, good luck when you get around to that :)

11107930
neat

11105584
Sorry to hear that, my condolences

I'm glad there is a new chapter

Finally, this chapter did NOT want to be written. It gave me great difficulty. Hopefully the rest is a bit smoother, :moustache: I don't know about ya'll but I'm excited for the reunion coming in the next chapter. :applejackunsure: :raritycry:

Honest this story is better than I thought it was gonna be and now I crave more, I can't wait for the next chapter.

Thank you, it came out better than I imagined too. :twilightsheepish:

Update tomorrow friends. Sorry about the delay, it's the ADHD :derpyderp1:

Update: Wow I suck, sorry for the delay my computer was on the fritz.

Shorter chapter this time, but lots going on in it. So, Rarity's met the fiancée from Tartarus It's very fun writing someone so unpleasant. :trollestia:

Crispin: a family name derived from crispus 'curly-haired'. Also: Saints Crispin and Crispinian are the Christian patron saints of cobblers, curriers, tanners, and leather workers.

New chapter finally added (and a day early at that). Sorry I've been away, my sister got married and my grandma died the day after I got back from the wedding. AND my dog has surgery tomorrow so it's been busy. Hope you enjoy, I'm much more satisfied with this chapter than I am the last one.

I was wondering where you been, I was a bit worried since the chapters usually don't take this long. And I hope your doing okay

I'm loving the story, there is alot of emotion 👍

Love me some good (not at all healthy) angst.

Yay new update! And right before I go to bed too

11198496
Thank you for your comments they motivate me :pinkiehappy:

I also have a Knight's Tale-esque SciSet story in the works if anyone's interested in that. I have a little over 1/4 or so of it outlined.

Just picture Sunset in knights armor with short hair, :twilightblush:

“She did imply that Autistic people shouldn’t have children… to me, an autistic person, to my face.”

As someone with Autism, I disagree. Autism may sound like a bad thing, but it's not. It has it's perks. Such as gifting those who have it to think with logic but also make them able to 'think outside the box' if you will.

As for the kid part if they are Autistic as it can be hereditary, the parent would be able to emphasize with the child.

And many people are Autistic. Such asL

  • Albert Einstein: The man that gave us the science behind relativity and wormholes.
  • Anthony Hopkins: A famous actor known for playing Hannibal Lecter.
  • Tim Burtons: A movie director.
  • Charles Darwin:the man who came up with the idea of Evolution.
  • Bill Gates: The man who owns Microsoft and Xbox.
  • Michaelangelo: The famous painter and sculpter.
  • Sir Isaac Newton: He taught us the laws of relativity.
  • Jerry Seinfeld: Famous comedian.
  • Nikola Tesla: Famous inventor and engineer.
  • Steven Spielberg: Famous movie director.

I could list so many more people who have lived and died who were autistic but made history simply by existing.

So what if you're Autistic? It's not a bad thing! It's a gift! Everyone is unique and different! Everyone has their own skillset and abilities that others may not have.

That was exactly my point, yes. You may recall that in the last chapter I had Twilight say something to that affect. Both myself and my younger brother are on the spectrum, and everything Vignette says or implies about autism is bs and seriously wrong. Everything she says is also something someone else has said, out load, usually to me. Basically, Vignette in this fic is an amalgamation of every horrible human being I've ever spoken to. I hate her and having Twilight slap her was very cathartic for me.

excerpt from the prior chapter:

Twilight slapped her across the face and, face red with rage, proceeded to pull her violently off her high horse. “First of all,” She snarled as Vignette staggered from the blow, “your prejudice is showing. Secondly, Autism is not a disease. It’s not a bad thing; it’s not some awful condition to be fixed. Some people’s brains work differently. That does not make them any less worthy or deserving of respect. Did you know I’m actually mildly autistic? I’m also one of the most respected scientists in the country! My Autism is not a detriment, neither is Maud’s or Limestone’s. Our friends are having a child, how dare you try to ruin that with your unwanted opinions?”

This chapter got all kinds of emotion that I wasn't expecting yet, and that's a good thing in my book

11215612
I saw. Sorry. I felt it personal there in the chapter. Sorry about my outburst dude.

11215752
Thank you, honestly, it was a fairly enjoyable chapter to write. Also, cathartic... so very cathartic.

Only story I consistently check for updates, it's been an enjoyable read so far

Vignette sneered, “Oh please, you didn’t love me. You just needed someone to listen to your sob story about your great lost love . Rarity, Rarity, Rarity! Well guess what AJ .” The nickname rolled off her tongue like poison. “I’m all you’re ever going to get so make your choice. It’s me or them .”

Oh now you have double cross the line now so How should I say *ahem* you have royalty fucked up now bitch.

11226094
Thank you! That's the nicest news I've gotten all day :pinkiehappy:

AHAHAHAHA, the slowest of slow burns it is.

Anyway, here's a new chapter.

I didn't expect them to make up that fast

11235676
Fear not, this is in fact a cliff hanger and more drama will follow :pinkiesad2:

Wouldn't it make more sense to give Crispin Apple yellow hair?

11242626
I mean, they are identical twins, and if you look at humans dark hair is generally the dominant trait so children of people with one light haired parent and one dark haired parent usually have dark hair. So, when I first started writing this I thought about what, Rarity and their father's (who we don't mention by name: Ragamuffin) kids would look like. I pictured them tan-almost orangeish with purple hair and green eyes. If you'd rather they be blonde you can think of them as such.

I like the new cover art for this

I feel so bad for aj, I just want to give her the biggest hug

11243149
True, but that's what makes her such a good sympathetic character. It's actually pretty easy to make people feel bad for her situation.

To her credit, there is more going on with Rarity than anyone has seen so far.

11243418
Can't wait to see what happens next

I'm liking how the new cover art gives fuel to the idea that Scitwi here helped Aj and rarity have their kids with Science
