Author's Note & Thanks

Hello? This thing on?

Testing, testing, one two three, peter piper picked a peck of pickled peppers...

Hmmm? It's working? Good...

So, I bet you're all wondering why I've gathered you all here today... Heh, always wanted to say that... Well, anyway, I just wanted to put a few things out in the open here.

First, a huge thanks to all of the people who read this story and decided that it was worthy of a thumb and like, it means a lot to me, and I'm still relatively new to the whole 'touchy feely' thing in writing, so I can just hope that this fic had a modicum of meaning to it.

I'm not sure where I got the idea for this, I just suddenly got the urge and the finer details fell into line shortly after, so whatever came into my head went down on paper, with a few changes of course...

Also, this story could almost, and I stress the word almost here, be considered a sequel to my other story 'perfect shade of blue', but I only realised that they were linked after I put the finishing touches on Lifetime, so it was convenient in the long run.

Now, I have this firm belief that the sun-genre of thoughtful sad it incredibly undervalued, as there aren't many fics out there that can challenge your perspective on life, so I'd like people's opinions on what exactly they thought of this, and if it did in any way make them think about things. I have actually been dealing with some losses in my family recently, and I wanted to write something that delved into this area of thought, so if anyone got that impression... :3

I also have this firm belief that the most popular stories (the ones that get featured) are either built off gimmicks and fads (Luna eats an oreo), or a video game/television series (My Little Caboose), and I was getting sick of seeing HIE's and other self-inserts everywhere, and especially the Chess Game of the Gods fics, which seem to be popping up everywhere. That in mind, I wanted to write something that was off the beaten track a little, and I can just hope that whoever did read it liked it and came away from it just a little better off.

But I will stress this, Lifetime is in no way preaching, it was just showing one of my quick perspectives on life, the universe, and everything (42). However, it is meant to be a little sad, and a lot introspective, and to anyone who had actually read Perfect Shade before this, browny points all around, you would actually have some idea of the situation that sparked the whole idea.

Oh, and if you think that you could guess the manner in which Pinkie passed away, leave a comment saying it, I'd like to see if anyone noticed the clues I dropped.

So basically, for those that said TL;DR, thankyou for reading, and I hoped that you liked, and maybe even gave a thumb. Think about the messages, and just relax, it's not meant to be super complicated. Anyone who would like to give criticism, it would be very much appreciated, so leave a comment. And if you're interested in some of my other works, head over to my page and check them out.

Thanks for reading!

I think you have the wrong user, sir.

But if you mean Derpfish the creature/god/being/etc...

I HAVE ARRIVED.

1377362 That is exactly what I mean...:trollestia:

ALL HAIL THE GOD- Hehe, I mean, ALL HAIL THE DERPFISH!

1389089 Thanks, it means a lot to have one of my smaller fics liked. This is actually a kind of sequel/link-in to another fic I wrote, 'Perfect Shade of Blue', could I get your opinion on that? I'm just trying to get as many ideas for the future as possible...:twilightsheepish:

1425638 Well, to make it simpler, the whole idea of the rollercoaster is that it is a metaphor, and she actually died from a fire/explosion/whatever, it's more the idea of that the flames took her, fire does that, sooo...

Thanks for liking, this is one of two 'deeper' thinking fics, so I feel good that you liked it :rainbowkiss::twilightblush:

1663175 Lol, forgot that link was still there. Honestly I wrote this one a LONG time ago, so I'd forgotten THAT song...

Yeah, the moment I saw that comment the only thing I could think was FACEHOOF! :facehoof:

Yes, that's precisely it Twilight.

Anyway, thanks for the favourite and thumb!

The ride never ends.
