Another fun sleepover leads them to another discovery about Sunset's past before she went to the Human world, they find a Wanted poster of their friend.

Note: The crimes I'll be implying are actually different than what this cover art of the wanted poster implies.

Inspired by one of those deviant artworks I came across.

Portal wasn't forbidden, so much as just very limited in the ability to use...

And on Sunset's next visit to Manehatten, she was captured by someone just starting their new bounty hunter career and turned over to the authorities and punished for her crimes.

And then they would feel stupid that they just started and came so late. Sunset's bounty was lifted, so they probably forgot to tear down her wanted posters

If the City of Manehatten issues a 15,000 bit bounty, giving a few bounty hunters bits to not pursue that bounty doesn't mean others can't collect on it later. Only getting the City of Manehatten to withdraw the bounty does that.

Don't forget about Princess Twilight, she rules the whole nation now. Giving them bits is her way to right a wrong, and they would likely tell he other bounty hunters that her bounty was lifted, if not, Princess Twilight would likely lifted that bounty

Rainbow turns to see Sunset talking to the pizza guy by the door while her friends were still chatting. She turned back to AJ and replied. "We'll tell our friends first and then ask Sunset."

I would probably do it the exact other way around...

She walk over to the small table and place the pizzas there and saw her friends staring at her, and those stares made her feel like something's wrong.

Sunset: "Why are you looking at me like I'm a wanted criminal or something?"
Friends: "Well..."

Nice story!
Even if the ending was quite rushed.

As others already said, technically they only bribed some (maybe she missed a few?) of the enforcers to not try to catch Sunset.
That means the bounty is technically still legal and can be claimed by everyone.
It would make more sense if Sunset visits the places she damaged and pays (and apologizes to) the ponies she had wronged.

Good story concept but a little mistake in it. Bounty hunters don’t decide who they hunt. If SunSet wanted to make it so there wasn’t a price on her head she should’ve bribed whoever put it on her head in the first place.

Your right. Then again, Princess Twilight was there and helped Sunset right her wrong. So, even if her bounty is still not lifted even after paying it off to the bounty hunters, she would use her authority to lift it. In which she would've done in the first place but Sunset did said herself that she needs to atone her other past mistakes there. Giving bounty hunters bits is her way showing how sorry she was and wanted to make it up to them by paying them bits that worth her bounty. And Princess Twilight would make sure her bounty is already paid.

Okay, now I realized that my story had some plot holes or something and you got a good point

10620954
There's witnesses. When Sunset was showing off her magic to the ponies at those places, (she pretty much acted like Trixie on that) and when she erupted chaos at those places, witnesses knew what she look like and what her name was, (if she gave it away) then the bounty hunters knew who the bounty was based on what the witnesses told them.

I might be wrong on this

10620973
No, I mean someone put a bounty on her personally themselves. She’s supposed to avoid bounty hunters and convince who’s responsible for the bounty in the first place. If the people she wronged put up the bounty she need to get them to forgive her and take it down. If the government did it then it’s the same case with them. Paying off the bounty hunters makes no sense since they’re not the ones she hurt, they not in it for personal reason but the money. They don’t care if she’s good now, they just want the money and wouldn’t stop trying to capture her unless told by whoever out the bounty up themselves that the deal no longer exist.

Bounty hunting doesnt work like that...

What if a bounty hunter had discovered that Sunset Shimmer was on the other side of the mirror portal and had successfully made their way to the EqG universe, intent on completing the mission...

That's gonna be a crazy stunt they'll pull. Even if they did and manage to learn how the other side works, they still need to get through her friends, especially they'll protect Sunset and tried to reason with them, and with Sunset apologizing for the damage she caused

What if the pony bounty hunter was a single minded bounty hunter a lost twin of Bulk Biceps called Arnauld... Perhaps the bounty hunter was enchanted by a mage pony called Skyla Netter so they must complete the mission...

First off this needs some a lot of editing. Overall it's not a bad concept and has lots of potential.

Second, it's nonsensical on multiple levels. Princess Celestia would have found out. It would likely work better if Celestia herself had given Sunset the poster as a reminder that her behavior has consequences. Sunset isn't going to cause mayhem, leave, and then go back without inquiries being sent to Canterlot, short of everything happening well outside of Equestria. All those places are part of Equestria. They are not autonomous regions. Had Sunset's activities happened outside of Equestria such as Saddle Arabia or Griffinstone, (which would actually work a lot better) Celestia more than likely would still have found out.

Paying off bounty hunters does not prove a person has changed for the better. If anything it demonstrates the individual hasn't changed. Providing restitution to the communities is how one makes up for past misdeeds.

Twilight is the ruler of Equestria, she can pardon Sunset Shimmer effective to all regions of Equestria to include an edict against attempting to collect on any and all past bounties. She can also negotiate with foreign nations, kingdoms, and principalities. Paying off bounty hunters only solves the problem for the moment and there is nothing stopping a bounty hunter from taking what is nothing more than a bribe and then collecting on the bounty anyway.

One last thing, I honestly think the story would have worked better if Sunset had told her friends a wild tale of the old west followed by reveling that the poster was actually a novelty poster.

I honestly never thought about the last part. Coz in my headcanon, bounty hunters are a natural thing to be around in Equestria.

Also, some others already pointed out that paying off bounty hunters does not solved the whole thing so I already know what I got wrong here.

And I originally planned to have Princess Twilight to pardon Sunset but I thought that Sunset herself should own to her mistake by her own, honestly didn't think logically :twilightsheepish:

Then again, thanks for pointing that out:twilightsmile:
