Isn't Tirek predates Starswirl? My Equestrian history knowledge is wonkier than the subject itself.
First, "hit" should be "it", here.
Second, oh yeah - forgot about that ritual thing. Trying to get Twilight and Tom back.
In canon, Twilight, Spike and Starlight returned not that long after they left; didn't seem like any extended period of time had passed, certainly not three weeks; what changed this? Furthermore, Harmonia didn't notice Lightning Dust here - maybe she only had eyes for Dusk. I wonder how Rainbow would treat Lightning, and how a potential Lightning/Lightning meet would go...I mean, didn't the canon version of her try to make Scootaloo do a suicidal stunt?

Awwwwwwww ...It would have been great if she started to get tears in her eyes when she hugged Duskfall tighter.
So, in the end Dusk visited Nightmare, Chrysalis, Tirek and Fallout... She is not going to visit Discord timeline then? Or maybe I forgot it, damn fish memory

Thanks for the grammar spotting, as usual.
The reason time passed was because, unlike the original, there was no time spell in play. Time is a funny thing and the relative time of every Dimension can vary. A single day in one dimension could be centuries in another or time can match up perfectly. Given the time scales of all the different dimensions Duskfall visited, it ended up being about 3 weeks in her home dimension.
Also, yes, Harmonia only had eyes for Duskfall. Do you really think she'd just ignore Starlight, the one who took Duskfall to begin with, otherwise?
The Dash/ Lightning meeting and the Lightning/Lightning meetings are going to be quite interesting, although Lightning probably won't meet Lightning until Book 3.

No Discord Timeline. Ultimately I boiled down the Discord Timeline into Duskfall and Discord's little meeting in the Nightmare timeline. There wouldn't have been any new material to explore unless I made that Discord 100% evil and given he was content to just toy around with Luna and Celestia instead of slap them in stone or kill them, or most likely tortured them into insanity, I'd have a hard time justifying that angle, I feel.

I seem to have a gun to my head and a teleprompter telling me to tell you that Harmonia in no way cried during that final scene. To assure you that she didn't cry and certainly didn't force me to delete the bits of her crying in editing.
Also thanks for the edits, as usual.

In the cutscene backstory of Scorpan, it shows Starswirl, so he was clearly around back then.
I'm guessing the deal that dusk made was probably to get twilight and tom back?

Yeah, unless you do the inverse, Discord good, Celestia and Luna bad and after Dusk mistakenly help them, she discover that she should had not helped, but I don't think it fits
The key part of the broken past were what mattered so think it’s good you avoided the Flim bro’s since doubt much could be done there in interest wise. The discord verse would have been the same as Tirek I think but, not the full insanity play through. Works well that you had him included with NMM. Has him included without another tragic past of mane 6 with more confusion of repeating that Dusk is from another timeline/universe ect.
While you could go back and write them if you felt like, this current layout works for the purpose intended I think. Get Starlight on a “better” path and concludes the fighting between them for now. Just a truce for now so she can see the world with clear mind (sorta). No need to extend this story as it currently is.
3 weeks left in timeline....1 more book suggested as well. Not sure how much more will be added but curious total words this is going end up being. Maybe another 20k~ Before it finished (30k at most) I’m thinking. Will wait and see what happens though.

You are correct. It isn't much of a mystery in and of itself for the readers. The mystery is mostly supposed to be in Duskfall's head on whether or not she makes the contract with the Winter Solstice ritual or later down the line.

I agree, that would have been a possibility, but it also doesn't make much sense for Duskfall as a character to fall for something like that. Especially given how she's friends with Luna and Discord in her home Dimension, she'd be willing to at least hear Discord out and give him the benefit of the doubt before doing anything too hasty. I would have also needed a way for Starlight to learn Chaos Magic, since, as I established in this chapter, Starlight's Special Talent revolves around absorbing and learning different forms of Magic.

I'm planning on hitting: Canterlot Boutique, then Mane Attraction, Tanks for the Memories, and then the final chapter.
I anticipate the final chapter to be very, very long. I have to resolve most of the dangling plot threads for Duskfall's primary character arc and set up the premise and conflict that will go into Book 3. If I average 2K words for the other three and then I anticipate at around 15K words for the final chapter, then I should be around the 20k words mark you predicted. Of course, this whole Multiverse Arc was built on the back of an anticipated 10k word total and wound up being 35+K words so take any of my word count predictions with a truckload of salt.
I'm glad you felt the same way I did about the worlds I ended up showing and the number of them. I felt forcing Duskfall into the Flim Flam world or the Discord world would be difficult as I didn't really have any ideas that couldn't be explored in other timelines (and probably explored better). There was also the glaring issue of "how would Duskfall fix the Flim Flam world" that was compounded by the fact Flim and Flam taking over Equestria to begin with is so utterly ridiculous that if I tried to justify it then the Overlords might as well not be Flim and Flam at all.
I could have constructed an original timeline or if I was feeling extra shameless, borrowed the one from Rearranging Perspectives, but given the focus of the conflict was Starlight herself I felt it made more narrative sense to follow the superficial similarities to the alternate timelines in the show, even if the alternate dimensions were unrecognizable under the surface. This choice also ended up with the surprise addition of Lightning, for which I am eternally grateful.
At this point I'm just rambling because while everything I chose to do made sense in my head, it's nice to hear someone agrees with my reasoning.
So the second Starlight is the final world version of Cosy Glow?
