TwilightSparkle484

Life is like a Rubik's Cube. So many problems. So many possibilities. So many solutions.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash are both known for being competitive. Thus, when an opportunity for a dare arises, it is no surprise that the two take on the challenge – cave exploration. Unexpectedly, Spike manages to tag along for the ride. Spelunking is a foreign concept for the trio, yet they're willing to take a risk. But if danger is inevitable, ... how far is too far?

Takes place a few months after Season 9.

I like it so far - the writing’s really good and it has a nice flows. I think a little more body language is the only critique I have, but honestly, you’re doing great! Don’t worry about update times too much, just have fun writing and don’t stress about it. (*whispering* also, the banter between dash and aj was really good! Nailed it!)

Colour me intrigued...

Good setup at the cave entrance there, not to mention Twilight-Mom worrying about Spike going. Course her freakouts will probably come back in full at whatever the next chapters have in store! :twilightoops:

"Of course, I won’t have it do that all the time. I would be disrespecting Celestia and Luna as well as abusing the power they bequeathed to me.”

I dunno, Twi...I kinda expect that they'd be thinking to themselves "why didn't we ever think of that?" right about now. :rainbowlaugh:

“Don’t worry. She will.”

I'm worrying. She won't. And that Dash has no intention of correcting that. :twilightoops:

Of course, there's always the chance that the really interesting stuff starts going down well before we even reach that point...which, considering the story's summary, seems likely, doesn't it? :trixieshiftright:

Wooo!! I’m so excited you’re still doing this story! It’s shaping up to be a nice one:twilightsmile: K, I’m gonna read it now.

No, I didn’t see any errors at all! In fact, I thought this chapter was done really well! I liked the mention of Sunburst and Starlight visiting too. Rest assured, I’ll be here for the next installment!:pinkiehappy:

It's clearly a show cave, but the staff didn't ask for any money... that never happens in real life. :rainbowlaugh:

Thanks for checking. :)

I completely forgot about that. :rainbowlaugh: They might have to pay when they get out . . . if they ever escape. ;)

10330576
I'd be so mad if I came out of a cave after an epic trip and had to pay! I can imagine it being the straw that breaks AJ's back. :rainbowlaugh:

Thank you. :)

Lol, you're probably right about the princesses. :ajsmug: Sadly, I don't think Scootaloo will be making any appearances.

So...Spike's got wings here. I can understand certain spots of the cave might be too narrow for proper flight, but there are plenty of other times where I'm thinking him using his wings would be a good idea...like trying to chase after AJ after she's swept downriver. Or, for that matter, getting to the other side of the river. And a couple other instances.

Other than that, everything continuing to be of interest.

Well, my friend, you've guessed correctly. That's exactly what's he going to do. ;)

Glad you're enjoying it.

Yeah, the minute AJ decided not to use that map at the beginning just to show off Rainbow already doomed this trip!:facehoof:

Thing sure escalated quickly at the end there though, can't wait to see how they get out of this one.:twilightoops:

And the tension rises yet again with that cliffhanger, at the very least Spike got to finally use his wings earlier in the chapter. Hopefully he gets to do so again no matter what happens! Also wonder if RD will sense something has gone wrong with AJ & Spike, here's hoping! :rainbowdetermined2:

Hmm, we'll see about that. :raritywink:

Peculiar rumblings, a mysterious "shadow," curious writings etched in the walls, an ineptly done map...yeah something's very amiss about this cave.

If I didn't know better...I'd almost say someone wants them to be forever lost in this cave... :twilightoops:

This chapter sure had it's ups & downs, especially for poor Spike here. Ever since AJ got dunked into that river a few chapters ago the possibility of her getting hypothermia did crossed my mind (and a few reviewers as well for what I saw in previous comments), here's hoping things turn for the better next chapter! :moustache:

“I’m looking for crowbar or somethin’,” Applejack replied, tossing a sack filled with something heavy to the side.

Who do you think you are? Gordon Freeman? :rainbowlaugh:

“Of course, we can. It’s only been, what? Eight hours or so?”

*checks post dates of chapters*

More like three months, but who's counting? :rainbowlaugh:

Also, a little FYI. 96.8 degrees (Fahrenheit) would be considered a significantly lower body temperature for a horse than a human. That's because their average body temperature is typically between 99 and 101.5 degrees. I just thought I would point that out for anyone who was confused.

I actually was about to stop and point out that 96.8 didn't seem that low right when I read it, but then I stopped to think that maybe it is for an equine so I looked it up, and what do you know. It's just so many authors humanize this side of MLP so much, sometimes you forget to stop and consider things like that. :rainbowlaugh:

Been waiting for a "big reveal" like this...

Holey..........................WHAT THE ACTUAL HEY??????????????????????????:pinkiegasp:

Hope something good comes next chapter to balance things out cause...................CRAP!!!! :twilightoops:

Hot Damn, about time things turned in favor of these 2! :raritystarry:

“I cast you back where you belong, fallen spirit … into the deep.”

Roll credits! :rainbowlaugh:

And another villain bites the dust. You know, these two (and their friends) have racked up quite a list for their resumes by now, haven't they? :ajsmug:
