Reading the letter gave off the serial stalker vibe becuause of how connected they are and how they have been tracking Gilda's birthday.
I can only imagine the process gabby had to go through to get the heat-suppressant potion so she can continue doing her job as a mail bird.
The mystery deepens! Good job so far.
I really, really look forward to the following chapters and what's next between Gilda and Gabby, it surprises me that I never thought about a pair like that before, or to like it this much (no doubt in part due to how you handle them) ...and besides the occasional typos in the first chapters (and the front legs of traditional gryphons being claws/talons not paws
) it has been a long time since I had a story captivate me like this, I hope it gets featured at some point.

Noticed a few formatting errors, the Itallics disappearing with the small flashback bit to Grandpa Gruff trying to comfort Gilda about half way through, but I didn't notice much else. I am tired as hell right now though, so take that with a grain of salt.

hm, winter blows in, stubborn counsel is stubborn, spontaneously tosses aside common-sense to go with the dangerous option to chop down a massive tree to pull their town through the winter.
Gilda pulls some strings in secret and gets equestrian help that becomes more problematic than helpful, mountain weather goes nuts at the last minute to put a perfect operation into a tailspin, then the shit hits the fan harder than a skull against a brick wall-wait...
not gonna lie, I saw someone was gonna get hurt when the marks got covered and mailbirb goes full flock leader to try to stop the teleport. I got my predictions, but I'ma read on to see what's gonna happen next.
