Burning Passion

Two of the Young Six have gotten the second call from the map. This time, Smolder and Sandbar are going to the Dragon Lands. Once there, they were surprised to see that the one needing help is Dragon Lord Ember. Not just her, but a king from a certain hive.

Rather good one-shot. Yeah, the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are pretty well done in all the right places. I could EASILY see this being a mid-Season 10 episode if there actually WERE a Season 10 outside the comics. I can understand Smolder getting summoned and POSSIBLY Sandbar if you go by the logic of him understanding how friendship can develop into something more, but I'm surprised Ocellus wasn't ALSO called. There's no rule that says only two have to be called after all. And, yeah, I can understand Thorax being worried about Ember introducing him to her dad (pretty much THE ULTIMATE Overprotective Dad with the size and strength to match).

Anyway, all in all, quite wonderful work.

Once more, this is a REALLY good chapter. The exchanges, characterizations and general chapter set-up are all well done in all the right places. Love how Thorax tried to disguise himself as a dragon because he was so nervous around so many dragons [particularly Torch] and the rather embarrassing name Ember came up with on the spot. I could see where Smolder and Sandbar could be getting a VERY bad feeling, but I have a hunch we'll soon see why THEY were the ones that got called for this mission.

I'll VERY definitely be looking forward to more of this.

Great job on this final chapter. The exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up were all well done in all the right places. I particularly liked the origin of Thorax's crush on Ember, how quickly Sandbar and Smolder were to catch that Ember DOES return those affections and Sandbar's attempts to encourage Thorax.

All in all, as I said in an earlier review, I could EASILY see this as a mid-Season 10 episode if there WAS a Season 10 outside the comics.

Great job. I loved how you did the story telling. Also including Ember's father Torch having that whole Hobbie obsession. And showing smolder and ocellus ship.

Yeah, these guys were a missed potential. I’d much rather watch an episode centered around to explore one of them (say Ocellus) over Pinkie by having a sulk not being able to play an instrument she’s clearly not good at.
