It is tied to the events of the Apple Sleep Experiment. It answers things like Twilight and her friends were and what they were doing, like making the cure for AppleJack.
I only want two things going into this, the first is to know with 100% certainty that apple_bloom is dead since I have some hope that she's still alive due to being an earth_pony even just a filly. The other is for twilight_sparkle to suffer some type of backlash for her role in how things played out.

Man, reading this really helps me to understand Twilight. She didn't lie to the princesses or anyone else. She only lied to Applejack because she doesn't want her to be mad at her friends.
Holy cow! This is getting better and better. I'm actually not mad at Twilight and more leaning towards it's complicated scenario.
