We all know the Makuta right? Giant protosteel titans who have 42 assorted powers?
In this retelling, the Makuta have been around for nearly 850 years and have been gaining power ever since. Not the "world domination" sort, but political power. While the Makuta are the protectors of the pony world, they also serve as advisers, politicians, and scientists for the Queen of the Sun.
While Celestia was apprehensive of the Makuta at first, over the years she came to trust them. She grew accustomed to their presence and individual behaviors, calling some of them friends.
Then, the day came when Twilight Sparkle passed her exam. A small seven-year-old filly with the potential to level the city, raise the sun and moon, and grasp concepts of magic that even boggled Celestia's mind.
Yet, all that magic.
And all that knowledge.
Would be gone in a matter of seconds.
Replaced by a mind for mechanical and biological science. And a body of flesh and bone, replaced by one of anti-dermis and indestructible metal.

The title has my curiosity, but the chapter have given me the full attention.
It makes me genuinely happy to know bionicle is still alive and getting attention.
Cancelling it was one of, if not THE biggest mistake Lego has ever made.
I would go into a rant about it but, that would take way to long and I'm sure no one wants to read a 17yr old rant about his favourite childhood toy line.

yea, you bring up a good point actually, it's been going on for a tad bit to long in my opinion and is another way for Disney Tomane more money off of people, but some of the sets weren't that bad, again in my opinion.
But, meh, I never really bothered with the Star Wars line anyway, love Star Wars but the Lego sets.

I'm actually a bit confused here. Why was the one makuta punished? I probably missed something but all the blame would fall on twilight for. tampering with something unknown, or the makuta assigned to watch her. Beside that I'm enjoying the story.

Well it's not so simple, the makuta had responsible of supervising her. He should taken twilight out of the room for safety reasons. Secondly the experiment stood open, if I remember correctly, so this is a risk for over makuta too.
And lastly Twilight is in this story only a teenager, and at least in Germany (where I live) teenagers can't take full responsibility for their actions, yes at an age of 14 they can go to a special jail just for underaged people, but the parents and supervising persons will still have the major blame for the teenagers doing.
So I think it was right to punish the makuta.
And please don't forget, makuta have a bit of a cruel side so they enjoy the chance to punish someone.
This is good I really want to see what the future chapters hold.
This surprised me a lot, did not expect this to be so good. Hope to see more of this in the future, this fic gives me some real nostalgia remembering Bionicle.
