Indeed and that's what I intended, I wanted to explore something the franchise hasn't and is relatable to the young adult fans. Plus with FiM coming to end, I figure I try my hand at giving EG a non-canonical conclusion.

Very interesting idea of Sunset Shimmer as a musician. But I have a feeling that's not what her calling in life is, even with Flash Sentry as a part of it.

This was a hard decision for me to land on. When I thought of things that I know Sunset loves or loves to do, being a musician seemed, to me, as the one goal she's most likely to pursue in a world that has very limited magic. My gamer side wanted to make streaming her ambition but it really just seems more like a hobby and nothing else. Motorcycle mechanic or competitive motorbiking almost became a goal but the more I thought about it, the less likely I saw her actually doing it. As for friendship, well I don't really see her spreading the magic of friendship or starting up a friendship school in a world like this. As for music, well we've seen her doing this activity the most, she's good at guitar and singing, she enjoys performing on a stage, and it's become a key part of her character, it seemed to me like the most like ambition. As for Flash and Sunset, well I've got something in mind but that cake is still baking, so I'm not saying anything about them just yet.

9783442 I could kind of see Sunset going a similar route to Starlight, except instead of a counselor she's a therapist. It'd be a way for her to use her powers, since she could directly experience what others have been through.

An interesting insight, I didn't think of it that way. I've already pretty much committed to this route, though if I ever do another story about post-high school EG, I'll definitely explore that trail.

This was a good chapter to read. I enjoyed seeing Fluttershy advise Sunset on what she wants to do in life - it's a lesson that really needs repeating in this day and age I feel.
And also, as a big Flashset shipper, I got a real kick out of the conclusion of this chapter too.

With all the things she's into, Sunny could go into a variety of fields. Scientific research, she's got the grades and the smarts. Psychology or sociology, she was able to manipulate her entire school into submission. Journalism, she was head of the year book staff, and that does translate over. As well as art, she's a photographer, comic artist, graffiti street artist. School administration or teaching, take after principal Celestia. I think she sold herself short with that list, and just being into playing the guitar.
I'm glad I finally read this piece. Good to see that Flash and Sunset are dating and happy together and that Twilight was so supportive about it when she learned. And again, good lesson about college and planning for the future too. ^_^
