Maybe give Seeking Power by Forthwith a shot. Twilight does some artificing in that, and I'm quite a fan of the story.
Imagine that . . Bluey being a more or less amicable colt . .
Nice update
So basically he gives her political lessons and teaches he to play Warhammer. Both of wich he may regret some day.

I liked parts of his first draft more. The one scene where Twilight's three mental elements have a discussion amongst themselves that somehow manifests into the dream reality as three separate Twilights, befuddling Luna, was hillarious. That she then goes and does it again to cheat at DnD is likewise comical.
That said... like this Blueblood, though clearly the family, for all it's political accumen, is also running their own long-game. Get in good and early with Celestia's newest apprentice? Smart move... Poor Cadence, but it's not as if Twilight can be reasonably expected to understand anything about all of this.
I highly doubt that, and so should you.
Excellent job on the exchange, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. VERY much enjoyed Blueblood and Twilight's dialogue as they found out a bit more about each other (Twilight mentioning how Celestia taught her how to read certain trees and Blueblood teaching her about board games and a little bit of her own family history). All in all, this was quite an entertaining Breather Chapter, very much lighter in tone than most of the chapters before it (in an extremely welcome way) and probably most of the chapters that will follow it. Again, I don't mind that one bit; I think some light-hearted chapters provide some pretty welcome balance. And, yeah, like other reviewers, I get the idea that Blueblood's family is playing a bit of a long game here by trying to get in good with Celestia's student, but I AM definitely hoping Twilight will have a positive influence on Blueblood as well.
Anyway, I am most certainly looking forward to more of this.
Ah, a bound knife? Verra useful thing to have, you never know when you might want a quality knife.
Is she? I confess the origins drift from plane to plane but I'm fairly certain that Cadence is nowhere near so old.
Really hope that Blueblood is as he acta, Loyal.

Most people were, at least, mildly amicable children before they became adults. Glad you're still reading! The tense situation improved for you?

Thanks!

Celestia best keep an eye on the Royal Treasury once she starts playing.

Some parts of the first draft were funnier, but the overall story was much rougher. The polished version is quite good to read, I think
Glad you think Blueblood and his family are interesting!

Your confusion with Cadance is mostly my fault, the huge time gap between chapters. If you recall, she is 600 years old in this one! Her intro was a big concert as Smooth Mercury. You commented on the chapter about her being older and more experienced if I recall.

I guess we'll see, won't we?

Ah, right right right right. So many stories, so little time. It all blurs together...
If I didn't know any better, I'd say that Prince Blueblood actually cared a little bit for what I assume is his first friend that isn't the scion of one of his parent's "associates" or some status climber trying to get in his parent's good graces.
I'm also a little cynical about the nobility trying to get in Celestia/Cadences good graces (or hoping that their offspring can get in the position if they manage to scare Twilight off).

It has been much improved, i find it much less jarring and easier to read now.
Also, it is an intriguing setting idea as well with interesting characters.
I am not a native english speaker, i am from germany and thus bad grammar and tenses and the such make it much harder for me to actually read stories in english which, in turn, makes it that much harder to actually enjoy what i am reading.

I am in fact reading that and it's amazing. The characterization is so well done. It's like the author reached into my head, scooped out my headcannon wholesale, poured it onto the page, and made it better.
Somewhere down the line of both Celestia AND Luna, I'm guessing.

You said you need that golden comment to get to 666 so here you go friend.
Ohhh!
Ah, now that we are off from work and no longer typing on a phone, we can get down to the tacks of brass.
Well, the essential difference honestly boils down to where one gets one's power. Or rather, necromancy is a school of magic whereas blood magic could rightly be considered a source of magic.
When you get right down to it necromancy sits somewhere between magical recycling and salvage of the remains of living things. With, a bit of looting, and possible slavery thrown in if there are spirits wrapped up in the mix. You get a body, or a bit of a body, or a large pile of bodies, you apply magic to it in the proper form, and something necromantic happens.
Blood magic on the other hand... Ah, where did I put that monogram?
Blood is life in a most fundamental sort of way, and blood magic plays on that connection to tap into the magic inherent in every living thing. "We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood..." yadda yadda yadda. It is, as nearly any other sort of magic found throughout the worlds, a tool; to be used, or misused. Once he has the trick of it down a mage can, in dire need, tap his blood, his life force, to continue working magic even after his wellspring's run dry.
Of course, at that point you are not only burning the candle at both ends, you have split it lengthwise and ignited the entire wick all at once.
The more dangerous trick is the realization that it really doesn't need to be you that donates blood, it can be anyone at all. Still opportunity for good service, healing spells that leech a bit of a patient's vitality to seal a deadly wound, sheltering troops donating to help a flagging warmage keep a shield up, blood banks stocking against some dire emergency.
Then you get to the foul business. In some paradigms particular intense feelings or emotion can cause bits of that lively energy to spall off, quite naturally from a person. Thus Princess Cadence's most powerful spells might be considered a very distant cousin to blood magic. In fact, by applying a crowbar to the semantics of the discussion, one might be able to argue that changelings practice a form of blood magic as a racial trait.
It is a very large crowbar.
Anyway, intense emotion. Certainly love or joy can serve, but it has to be something you/they feel right down to the marrow, and it's difficult to plan for an expression of love like that. Terror and pain are much easier to schedule. Aye, it's not just sadism, torture really does improve the yield of blood magic dramatically, and sooner or later every mana-addicted cult leader who dabbles in the stuff will resort to it.
So there it is in a coconut shell. Necromancy is repurposing "found" assets, and blood magic is both useful and addictive in equal measure. Best learn some discipline first before dabbling.

Good to see the long-form comments back in business! You're about to be very happy in a few minutes. I'm just editing the next chapter, posting it soon.

Im not sure blue was intended to become friends with her. I think he came to tease and insult her, but found he coulen't stand doing so with someone so obvioualy incapable of standing up to it. No sport in it, so to say. So instead, he chose to help her become confident enough to make a proper rival and friend.

My thoughts, exactly. Curiously, Shining Armor doesn’t seem to possess equal amounts of traits from both of the Diarchy. Only Twilight.
is it wrong that that both love and hate this version of Blueblood?
