No Second Prances Alternate Ending

Author's Note:

I am not a fan of Starlight, I am not one of the Starlight haters who thinks she ruins every episodes she is in with her mere prescence. I agree with the complaints but I will be fair to her when I think it's warranted, just like with my story MLP the movie: Starlight and Trixie I want to write her fairly for her.

Especially since while I think this can easily be my most disliked episode of the entire show (the only reason why I don't think this is the worst official part of the entire G4 Franchise is because it's not the Equestria Girls Holiday special). What ruins this episode for me is that there is the section where we have Trixie being back to smug, Twilight (my fave character in the show) acting OOC in being judgemental about her only for her to be proven right.

I was inspired to write this short story after seeing this post by LightningSword on the no second prances topic I made for the Accusations Fic Collection forum. A post over a year old but what can you do?

Starlight Glimmer had just been about to finally agree to help her new friend Trixie with her magic show. She guessed that Twilight will have to accept her missing the tea she had set up with Princess Celestia.

Well she had been grating on her nerves lately as well, judging her new friendship with Trixie when she was the one to sent her out to find a new friend in the first place. Honestly she was being so judgemental, not giving Trixie a chance.

She was the one gave Starlight a chance, so why not Trixie. She was given a chance by Twilight after stealing her Cutie Mark, trying to brainwash her into her ideals and use time travel to break up her friendships.

Not many other ponies would give her a chance and yet Twilight did. Plus she was the one who went out of her way to help her reconnect with her lost friend Sunburst again. Now she was going to have to miss the tea she had set up with Princess Celestia herself. She was going to have to show up two princesses of Equestria at once, one of whom she owes a lot to despite her recent behaviour........

Thinking it over, it did not sound right. She had been about to say yes to a pleading Trixie when she realised it how rude it would be to not show up when Twilight had been through a lot of work to set it up for her.

“...........Actually sorry Trixie, but I have to make up my mind on this. I will have to help you with your trick on another night; Twilight is counting on me to make it to the tea.” Starlight sighed giving her a sad smile to which Trixie looked disappointed.

“Starlight you have come, you know I can’t do this trick without you! Plus remember how judgmental Twilight has been lately, give her time and she will have to understand you are doing this to help a friend.” Trixie begged only to looked open mouthed as Starlight shook her head and turned to leave.

“Sorry Trixie but I owe Twilight too much to not miss this, perhaps we could reschedule. I will be able to help you out another day.......” Starlight told her with a sad look on her face. Far from being dejected as Starlight expected her to be, Trixie was getting angry.

Trixie would not long regret the rant she would make in her rage:

“You have to help me with THIS magic show on that night! I planned for this and thought it was working when Twilight Sparkle reacted to seeing me; I have to show her up by having you chose me over her........... That was the point in me even making this stupid friendship in the first place!!!!”

Starlight froze and turned to look to Trixie in shock, “W-wh-what did you say?” Starlight asked with shocked sadness and with a single tear going in her eye, begging any deity she knew of that she had heard her wrong. “Did you say that you wanted to be friends to show up Twilight?”Starlight asked as Trixie stammered.

However in her state she could not help but put her hoove in her mouth further by her attempt at a justification.

“Sorry, I did want to be friends........ I did like our time together but......... it was mostly me wanting to finally get one over Twilight Sparkle after her showing me up with her magic and then using illusions against me.......... I didn’t mean it like that...... showing up Twilight would be a bonus but.........” Trixie stammered and Starlight’s sadness went to anger.

Trixie was fearful for a second but Starlight shook her head, “You’re not worth the anger Trixie, I may give you another chance another day but find somepony else to help you with your trick.” Starlight told her about to leave the wagon but Trixie humphed as she had tears of anger and lost in her eye.

“Fine then, who needs you. I will find somepony else to help me!” Trixie responded and Starlight just left. Trixie sighed as she watched her leave.

*PB*

“So Trixie really was up to something....” Twilight muttered as they were leaving the Tea they just had with Princess Celestia. Twilight had decided to try and apologise to Starlight for how she was acting but Starlight refused to comment and wanted to change the subject when Trixie was brought up.

“Really wish I was wrong on this, I was almost getting ready to try and patch things up with Trixie. If things were different I think we could have been friends after our first encounter. I really thought we would be the previous time we had met.....” Twilight muttered but then the two unicorns then noticed Trixie who was hiding nearby with tears in her face.

Starlight hesitantly walked up to her along with Twilight, “I am still mad at you but you want us to start over? That’s if you do genuinely want to be friends?” Starlight hesitantly asked and Trixie just had tears in her eyes.

“Stupid Starlight Glimmer, giving Trixie another chance she doesn’t deserve and stupid amazing princess Twilight Sparkle! So humble, if Trixie was you then I would have gloated to Starlight with an ‘I told you so’ and..... I will stop there.....” Starlight muttered as she noticed the faces on the two unicorns.

Twilight then thought of something and told them “you know what, to show this is water under the bridge, I suggest we do an activity of the three of us together. We can put together a little prank using research I have made on Changeling magic...........” Twilight told them as she then began whispering to them.

3 days later Applejack was waiting for Starlight to arrive at the barn; apparently she made two new friends and wanted to bring them over so Applejack could meet them. Her eyes widened and she grew shocked to see Trixie with the Flim Flam Brothers.

Flam turned to Flim and whispered “why do you get to be Flim? Trixie hates this moustache...” ‘Flam’ whispered to ‘Flim’ to be quiet or else she will spoil the trick.

[Tangent]

Trixie: "Trixie wonders... Does Twilight have a master plan to befriend every pony she defeated?"

Twilight: *sighs* "No. That would be silly."

Starlight, Trixie, and Twilight continue trotting towards Twilight's Tree Fort Palace.

Twilight: "Besides, necromancy is illegal."

Starlight and Trixie stumble upon hearing this.

I’m a Starlight fan and even I think what she did in this episode was wrong.

Actually, Twilight wasn't acting out of character. You are just being biased because we have seen this side of Twilight on multiple occasions. I love her but at least I can see the truth.

Plus most of the complaints are a bunch of bs from people who can't handle change. They are the same people who couldn't handle alicorn Twilight or the castle.

Admit I am braised when it comes to twilight my fave pony but she still seemed ooc to me in that episode
