Enjoyable story, definition of slice of life. I like the portrayal of how family life is a lot of sacrifice but still worthwhile in the end.

Nobody ever said life like this would be easy, and Spike was okay with that: at least he had a loving wife and family to help him through it all.

Amen to that. Putting aside all the desires and aspirations I have for life, I recognise this as being my prime goal. It was quite heart-warming to read. Thank you.

Also, Applespike is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Other than that, I've become rather "into" Warhammer 40K and have a story on that, and really, I just lost so much momentum and interest in MLP. I have not even seen season three in its entirety, let alone seasons four or five.

It's okay, I'm the same way. Well, the not seeing seasons 4 and 5 part, not the Warhammer 40K part.

Ima be honest, I don't like Spike. At All. However, this here....this story here.....is a masterpiece.

I decided to put aside my dislike for Spike and give this a shot and boy was it worth it. The way you wrote Spike as a father and AJ as a mother to a miniature herd of children was perfect. Not a line or action out of place, nearly no "telling" in the story and the conflict was so well threaded throughout that I felt immersed right into it, scene after scene.

I may not like Spike as a character, but I sure as hell loved him in this one.

7063698 Those are are some of my favourite moments in reading fan fiction, when someone captures a character absolutely perfectly. It's something that takes care and consideration, and is a joy to read.
