It was a lord of change.

And they think those Four would let them live?
DIE SCUM! NO PRISONERS! FOR THE EMPEROR! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! - Brother Antonius upon engaging the Daemonic filth.
That was certainly well worth the wait! Loves every moment of it!
I'm not really upset that a greater demon was beaten by a single UltraMarine, considering he's been separated from the wider warp with nothing but ponies for centuries. He's likely out of practice.
Good story, by the way!
It is always nice to read about a good slaughter of demons. It was well worth the wait. Also, I am happy the greater demon was killed by one marine. The greater demon hadn't seen actual combat in over 1000 years not to mention it was a Tzeentch demon.

you forgot deamon in btwen die and scum like
DIE DEAMON SCUM!!! FEEL THE WRATH OFF THE EMPERROR!!!!! RRRRRAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!
So Luna has more meaning for him than Codex.
- Sorry, my dear Emperor, I'll stay with her! :-)))
Luna never speaks this casually. She would say "yes" or "of course."
Yeah, just sounds so weird and modern for Luna. I spotted a few strange occurrences for this in the last couple chapters from both Luna and Antinious.
Otherwise, I'm enjoying the story.

I thought a Lord of Change had two heads? And if it were a Lord of Change, it must had been a regressed one due to being separated from the Warp.
I noticed something while reading this chapter, when the daemons were finally introduced I think the reason they aren't as effective as their Warp-powered cousins is because they were trapped in Equestria, that and creatures from the Warp are manifested based off the psyche/thoughts of other creatures, since these daemons were trapped in a world that lacked or had barely any war or strife whatsoever, they could only take the form of the fears of its denizens... which was a bit lack-luster compared to the absolute terrors in the Warhammer40k universe.

That would be Kairos Fateweaver. He is the only lord of change with two heads.

Really now? I guess I just auto-assumed all Lord of Changes had two heads, never thought that one was unique than the rest, I play and sometimes lightly look into W40k lore, but details like this always miss me, thanks for telling me.
Just found this some people might like to see it
Plague - Warhammer 40k FanMade animation. (Anti-COVID special) - YouTube

Thank goodness it was a weak one, I know they are usually not weak but still.
Antonious must really like bananas!
I tentatively predict a slight change to show canon the Tantabus will be a training dummy rather than a method of self-flagellation.... although that would require the method of victory to be altered.
Hmmmm... or this could substitute for how that fight happened once it ramped up to mass combat...
Or not... seems I was utterly wrong about what this conflict was going to be like.
Well... that souns... unpleasend...
Uhuuu...
Yeees...
Okaaaay...
The F**K?
Naaaw... Luv... He loves Luna... hehege
Bad move Nightmare Lord...
Follow them into the warp abd kill tvem again!
Damnd right!
The main problem with the Codex is highlighted here though I think accidentally. This Marine makes his decisions using the Codex, yet no Marine has studied the entire Codex. Which means making decisions based on it are untrustworthy and unreliable.
Love this moment for Celestia. I really think this was one of the best "if you read into it" lore moments of FiM. The show may have not explored all the anguish of having to lock away a loved one but the fans have certainly crafted incredible stories from it.
