When Twilight returned to her library after her coronation, she found out one of the... Unique features of an alicorn.
Her old body has been obliterated, turned into ash by the Elements of Harmony to use as fuel for her Ascension.
Occasionally, she visits her ashes. This is one such visit.
And the dinosaurs all died
Jokes aside, I enjoyed it. It's kind of silly, but also rather heartfelt
Ok, it started off interesting....
And then you fluffed it up with that ridiculous tale attributed to Celestia. Have a well deserved dislike. Why would anyone think that divinity is exempt from ethics?
I have a feeling there is another story behind this quote...
I have no idea why Faust would meteor the planet? What kind of lesson is that? Oh I literally wiped a planet of life, but no worries, here is some more power.
Yeargh!
This is why you should never ever reveal Celestia's and Luna's history in a fic. Because everybody has their own widely varying ideas about it, and whatever you write is going to feel like a slap in the face.
Alicorns die during ascension, I can accept. There have been several stories here exploring that already. But then the story takes a sharp veer off into left field, which is okay, especially if this is a springboard into more and larger stories in your own personal universe. It does make it harder to accept, though, when the bulk of the story reads like it'll be exploring one headcanon idea (Alicorns die and get resurrected during ascension) but then drops several more without explanation or exploration or tying them into the main theme. For example: Luna and Celestia as creator deities, Faust, meteor extinction, Beta and Alpha alicorns, Celestia knows what a bus is but Twilight doesn't (considering EqG), the world only having been populated for ~50 years before Luna's banishment, etc. Again - that's not necessarily bad, it's just a lot to take in all at once.
