Pinkie really wants to spend time with her new friend, Fluttershy. What better to do that than to go to her own home?

Together, the two get to have fun, get to know each other better, and allow their budding friendship to blossom.

That was a sweet little tale. For the longest time, I found Pinkie to be... annoying. 'Trying to be funny', at best. But that changed, over time, and these days, I cherish her quite a lot. She's, regarding romantic stories, a great counterpart for quite a lot of ponies. And while I enjoy her shenanigans with Celestia, craziness with Twilight or 'best of two worlds'-factor with Rarity, FlutterPie just has something... special about it.
I wonder if they remembered all of this by the time Twilight came to town or if this is some sort of 'first steps' they forgot and possibly rediscovered later on.

Putting my shipping-goggles aside, though, this could be a perfectly harmless, shippingless friendship-story. And it shines. In both ways.
