After losing his job due to fighting with another employee, Huckleberry Hound finds a job offer in the newspaper that reads "We have a fabulous new job for you in Equestria, a peaceful world, and one that promises good pay. Positions available now!" Said job offer didn't specify what the job was, but the words "good pay" were enough for Huck. So he packs his bags and makes his way there, following the directions the map gave him. A bizarre portal trip later, he arrives in a world with colorful equine creatures, and learns from a hyperactive local that this is the Equestria the paper was referring to. Despite the weird new surroundings, Huck ends up getting a new job as a member of the Royal Guard thanks to Princess Celestia, and settles into a comfortable life with his new friends.
Of course, wherever Huck goes, trouble isn't far behind. Not long after starting his new job, a horrific monster from ages past is unleashed, turning ponies into crystals and consuming Ponyville with dark magic.
And Huck finds out that he's first in the line of defense to stop it.
Some "fabulous new job" this turned out to be.
A Hanna-Barbera/MLP:FIM crossover (possibly the first of its kind) filled with silly antics, some slice-of-life moments and cameos from various characters!
Well, this seems interesting, never really watched Huckleberry Hound, but, know enough about him to be interested in this. Is off to a good start so far. Looking forward to more. :D
Glorious start! We need more interesting crossovers like this one. My hat's off to you, sir. One little piece of advice, since you seem to have the basics down pat, maybe spice up the narrative during dialogue trades a bit. It was pretty plain. Good for brevity, but not as interesting. Pinkie standing on her head while shaking his paw, etc, as an example.
There are some story choice oddities I'd gripe about normally, too, but nothing too jarring. Him spotting Ponyville from the mirror pool's entrance in the Everfree being the biggest, especially when you consider that it was covered by a boulder in the show.
Ohhh I remember thinking that about my stories. <.<

6146424 Thanks for the review, and the advice on the narrative. I'll go back and fix up the narrative before I post the next chapter. Normally, I'm pretty on top of narrative, but I was kind of in a rush yesterday, so I didn't bother checking it.
As for the Mirror Pool, that's going to be explained next chapter, too, and it involves the guy who was attempting to kill Huck when he was at the Mirror Pool back in his world.

Couldn't care less. Saying that she could care less implies that the thought of what she was doing was still at the forefront of her mind. If she couldn't care less, then what happened was a complete nonissue to her.
People make this mistake often. It really rustles my gears and grinds my jimmies.

Huck won't need to worry about Dastardly. If they need to know what he's up to and especially if they need to keep him in line, I'm sure they could get a message to the bravest of the brave, that hero of heroes, El KaBong.
