Is the title meaningful?

It is. It's the first portion of a quote by Reinhold Niebuhr, and is commonly used as a motto by others. I actually have it engraved on the back of a coin I keep in my wallet whilst on me.

Hm. Looking really good. Keep it up mate!

Thanks! The next chapter is already 2900 words in. So hopefully that will be out soon. :twilightsmile:

Grant me the Serenity to accept what I can not change;
the Courage to change what I can;
and Wisdom to know the difference

BTW, does this whole story take place before season one?

The main story will. If I feel like it, I may add chapters after that to portray Nick's experience from some parts of the show.

the only thing that got me a bit confused is that he should get medical attention first....

That will be partially addressed in the next chapter since I cut it short. Buy if you read this portion:

"I'm happy to here that, now, follow me please. We'll be going to the infirmary wing to have your injuries treated." She stood up and began walking to the door we entered through earlier. I blanked, "My what?" Then it donned on me, "My burns. My fucking burns... Of all the things - I cant believe I forgot about my burns this entire time. I looked up and groaned.

I intentionally wrote it like this with idea that with all that has happened to him, that he's so focused elsewhere, the concern of his burns have been unintentially set aside.

Absolutely perfect beginning keep it going you have a strong beginning

I’ve been waiting for a story like this for a bit! I don’t exactly like the characters behavior but that’s not a writing problem rather I just don’t like the guy lol. To me this story as a lot of potential and I feel like you’ll do a great job fulfilling it but hey, that’s just my opinion. ;)

Thank you very much! I do have some character development in mind for the protagonist, that is if I can do it right. Writing is not my strong suit, but this story is something I've still been thinking about for some time.

Thank you! I do hope I'll be able to keep strong, or at least entertaining.
