The Girl From Sinnoh

James and Luna was still in the forest which they had to go through to get to Santalune City and Luna was still on edge, she still had the Beedrill attack in her mind so she was constantly looking around making sure that they didn’t get attack again.

“Would you relax Luna, we are not getting attack by Beedrill again.” James tried to assure her.

Luna look at him with annoyance. “You don’t know that, for all we know they can attack at any moment.”

“They won’t, Beedrill might be aggressive but they are not stupid, as long as I have Arcanine with me they will not attack.”

Luna wasn’t convinced at all, she knew that James Arcanine was strong but the legendary Pokémon was in its Pokéball and Beedrill could attack, Luna didn’t stop looking around.

When they finally could see Santalune city, some bushes moved which made Luna to hide behind James, she was using him as a shield. They waited to see what was coming out, what came out was not a Beedrill but a Pokémon that look like a mouse. The Pokémon was light brown at the bottom and the top was bluish.

“Huh, look at that, a Cyndaquil. I didn’t think to see one here in Kalos.” Said James while crossing his arms, he also sounded surprised.

Luna look a little confused. “Cyndaquil?” She took out her dex and pointed at the Pokémon.

Cyndaquil the fire mouse Pokémon. It is timid, and always curls itself up in a ball. If attacked, it flares up its back for protection.

Luna couldn’t see what was so special about Cyndaquil. “Why did you sound so surprised?”

“Cyndaquil is one of the started Pokémon from Jotho, so I am surprised to see one.” Then placed a hand on his chin. “If there’s a Cyndaquil her, that’s means…” Then they heard more movement from the bush.

“Wait up Cyndaquil.” That was voice of a girl and out from the bush came a girl with brown hair which was as long as Luna’s, she was probably at same age as Luna. She was wearing a red dress with some red shoes. The girl walk over to Cyndaquil and pick it up. “I have told you many times not to run of like that, you could get hurt.” Then girl notice Luna and James. “Oh, hello.” She look surprised to see them. “I didn’t think I will meet people here.”

James spoke up first. “I was about to say the same thing.” He then look at Luna who was behind him. “Does that look like a Beedrill to you?” He asked her with some tease.

Luna walk out from behind him. “No, they don’t.” She said with annoyance in her voice, she didn’t like that James was making fun of her. “She is clearly a human and her Cyndaquil is not a Beedrill.” James just chuckled.

“Are you two fighting because of me?” The girl asked the, she really hope not.

“No, we had an encounter with a swarm of Beedrill yesterday and Luna here is still on edge.” James told the girl while pointing his thumb at her. “By the way, I’m James Shaw and she is Luna Moon.” He said while looking at Luna who just waved at the girl.

The girl introduced herself. “My name is Abigail Holt and I’m from Sinnoh.” She told them.

“Sinnoh? You’re a long away from home. Well, so are we.” He said while scratching his head. “What brings you here?” He asked her.

Abigail started to look around the area. “Is possible we can talk in Santalune? This forest is creeping me out.”

James just laugh while Luna agreed with Abigail. “Sure, were not far from Santalune.” He point at the city in the distance, Abigail was just surprised that the city was this close.

While walking towards Santalune, James asked Abigail again why she was in Kalos and not Sinnoh.

“When I got Cyndaquil I didn’t know where I want to go so I wrote every region down on a piece of paper and then I placed them all in a bowl, then I closed my eyes and picked one, I picked the one that said Kalos.” James and Luna was surprised to hear that.

“Well, that’s one way to pick.” Said James.

“What about you two? Why are you in Kalos and not your own region?” James and Luna look at each other shock with expression.

James decided to speak. “How did you…?”

“You said that you were far from home after I said I was from Sinnoh.” James felt a little stupide right now.

“Were in Kalos because James hasn’t been here yet.” Luna told her.

Abigail was intrigued. “Never been here? How long have you been a trainer James?”

“Around nine years, give or take a few weeks.”

Abigail was impressed. “Nine years? You must have been in many championships.”

James didn’t want to answer that because he didn’t want to scare her but then Luna spoke. “James is the former Hoenn champion.” James then gave his girlfriend an angry look. “What? She would probably find out soon or later.”

Abigail stop when she heard what Luna said. “He’s a former champion? I don’t want to face him.” She then actually started to shake with fear.

James didn’t like this. “Are you happy Luna? You scared the girl.” Luna felt bad, she didn’t meant to frighten Abigail. “You have nothing to worry about Abigail, I have no intention to challenge you to a battle.”

That calmed her down. “That’s good because I don’t think I would win, I’m just beginner after all.”

When they arrived in Santalune City they all could see that it was smaller than Lumiose city, after finding the Pokémon center they decided to head for the gym, James wanted to battle the gym leader by the name of Viola. They had to ask for directions to find and when they did, they saw a giant green building.

Abigail wasn't that impressed. “The gym doesn’t look that special to me.

“Not the first time, I have seen many gyms and they all look different.” Abigail just had to thrust James words.

They were about to enter when the doors to the gym open and the woman with yellow hair walk out, she was wearing a white t-shirt with some green pants, she had a camera around her neck, it was Viola.

Viola was a little surprised to run into people at her gym. “Oh hello, I’m guessing you’re her for a gym battle.” Before they could say anything. “I’m sorry to say that’s nothing going to happened at the moment, I already had a gym battle against someone and I lost so I need to bring my Pokémon the center.”

James and the girls was surprised when they heard that. “You lost?” Asked James, Viola just nodded. “Against whom?”

“A girl named Tempest Shadow and let me tell you, she was strong. You can’t miss her, she has dark pink hair and a scar on her right eye.” With that said, she headed to the center.

James placed a hand under his chin. “So, a trainer has already beaten her, interesting. I’m going to find her and find out how tough she really is.”

Luna didn’t want to do what James was doing. “While you do that, I’m heading to the area outside the city to catch a new Pokémon. You want to come alone Abigail?”

Abigail jump when Luna asked her. “SSSure.” She and Luna headed towards the outside of the city while James decided to search for this Tempest Shadow.

Once the girls was in forest outside the city they started to search and it didn’t take long before they found a pond and standing there drinking from it was a Pokémon, it look like a small deer, it was white at the bottom, green on top with some yellow and it had a yellow floor on its head.

Both girls took out their dex to see what kind of Pokémon it was.

Deerling the season Pokémon. Their coloring changes according to the season and be slightly affected by the temperature and humidity as well.

Luna was the first one to speak. “Deerling, a grass type.” She look at Abigail. “Is okay that I catch this one?”

Abigail nodded her head. “Sure.” That made Luna smile.

Luna put away her dex and took out a Pokéball and threw it. “Come out Spritzee.” Out came the perfume Pokémon.

Abigail couldn’t help but think how beautiful Spritzee was, she pointed her dex at the Pokémon to see the data. “Wow, that’s cool.” She said to herself.

Luna on the other hand was ready to attack. “Spritzee, use fairy wind on Deerling.” Spritzee flew towards the season Pokémon who stop drinking to see what’s going on, then Spritzee fired away a wind that strong enough to knock Deerling back a little.

Deerling didn’t like that so it fired away an energy ball. “Dodge the attack.” Spritzee managed to avoid the attack and Luna was surprised that Deerling could the move, this one was strong. “Use fairy wind again.” Spritzee attack again but this time Deerling managed to doge the attack, the Pokémon attack with another energy ball and this time the attack hit. “Don’t give up and use echoed voice.” Spritzee managed to recover before it hit the ground, then the perfume Pokémon started to scream and Deerling was in trouble, it’s ears was hurting. “Use fairy wind.” Spritzee stop screaming and attack with wind again which was strong enough to knock out Deerling. Abigail wonder if Deerling was okay but Luna just wanted to catch it, she threw a Pokéball, the ball hit Deerling and it disappeared into the ball, the ball wiggled three times and then the click, Luna had now a Deerling.

“Alright, go me.” She went over to the Pokéball and pick it up. “I have a Deerling.” She said with a smile on her face.

Abigail walk over to Luna. “I hope that Deerling wasn’t hurt too much.”

Luna gave her questionable look. “Your kidding, right? They have to be weaken so we can catch them, you know that, right?”

Abigail nodded. “Yes, I know that but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.” She look down on the ground while rubbing her arm. “Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a trainer but I never like that Pokémon got hurt, I always thought it was barbaric.”

Luna nodded in understanding. “I know how you feel, I thought it was barbaric at first but it’s not like they died, they want to fight, we’re not forcing them to it.”

Abigail didn’t want to ambit it but Luna had a point, she knew that her Pokémon want to fight, fight for her but it didn’t make it. “Back in elementary school I saw some girls pick on a Caterpie, a Caterpie is one of the weakest Pokémon and those girls knew it, since that day I hated violence and that Pokémon do battle.” She said with some tears in her eyes, she then wiped them. “I know your right but it doesn’t make it easy.”

Luna couldn’t help but feel bad for Abigail, see some humans pick on a Pokémon, she would probably teach them a lesson. Also, what kind of Pokémon is a Caterpie.

Both girls then was startled by some noise from some bushes not far from them, they waited for who ever it was to jump out. Then a Pokémon that look like a rabbit jump out.

“Oh my, it’s a Buneary.” Said Abigail with a sequel.

Luna had no idea what kind of Pokémon it was. “Buneary?” She took out her dex and pointed at Buneary.

Buneary the rabbit Pokémon. When it senses danger, it perks up its ears. One cold nights, it sleeps with its head tucked into its fur.

It also look tough. “I want to catch it.” Said Abigail as she took out a Pokéball, Luna wasn’t about to stop her. “Come out Hoothoot.” Abigail threw the ball and out came an owl? Luna look at the data

Hoothoot the owl Pokémon. It has a perfect sense of time. Whatever happens, it keeps rhythm by precisely tilting its head in time.

Luna was amazed of what she saw, she still thought that Pokémon is awesome.

“Use peck on Buneary.” Hoothoot flew up and then towards Buneary ready to peck it, but as was about to, Buneary jump up in the air avoiding the attack. “Oh no.” then Buneary jump on Hoothoot sending the owl Pokémon right into the ground.

Luna had no idea what’s just happened. “What kind of move is that?” She asked Abigail.

“It’s called bounce and it’s a very strong move.” Abigail answered. Then Buneary was about to come down on Hoothoot who was still lying on the ground. “Move it Hoothoot.” Buneary was about to land on the owl Pokémon but he managed to fly away, avoiding getting crushed. “Use peck again.” Hoothoot turnaround in the air and headed for Buneary again and this time the attack hit. “Use tackle.” Before Buneary could recover from the attack, the rabbit Pokémon was hit again. “Noe, let’s use hypnosis.” Hoothoot eyes started to glow and Buneary fell asleep. Abigail took out a empty Pokéball at the sleeping Pokémon, Buneary disappeared into the ball and then it wiggled three times, then the click came, Abigail had just caught a Buneary. “I did it.” She went over and pick up the ball while Hoothoot landed on her head and hooted.

After that the girls decided to head back to town.

Another crappy chapter and Luna has a new Pokémon.

In the next chapter; James has a gym battle. I hope.
