Tag Battle; Couple Edition

After the incident on the boat, Luna and James was on the final island before Ever Grande city and the hoenn league, Ace had decided to head to forest on the island to and try and catch some more Pokémon, Luna and James was heading towards the Pokémon center.

They were about to enter the center when two persons walk out of it, two persons they didn’t want to meet, Sunset and Gary.

Sunset got a big creepy smile when she saw Luna and James. “Well, well. Is it not Luna and the former champion, I thought you had given up already.” She said to Luna.

“Why would you think that?” Luna asked with narrow eyes.

Sunset shrugged her shoulders. “No reason, I have always thought that you had no talent.”

Right now, Luna wanted to punch Sunset so hard in the face. How dear she say that she has no talent, she have managed to collect all eight badges by herself. James could see that Luna was angry and he didn’t like what Sunset said but what he didn’t like was that Gary let it happen.

“Aren’t you going to stop Sunset?” James asked Gary.

“Why?” James was shocked when he heard Gary say that. “I saw Luna at the summer school and she didn’t impress me at all, I would be surprised that she managed to collect all eight badge at all.”

Like Luna, James was also furious. “Says the trainer who lost to Ash in the Johto league.”

Gary just crossed his arm and smiled. “The only reason Ash won that time is because I got distracted.”

James just rolled his eyes of what he said. ‘Yeah, by some cheerleaders.’ James was about to said something, but Luna beat him to it.

“That’s it, I had enough of you.” She pointed a finger at Sunset. “I challenged you and Gary to a tag battle.”

Everyone was surprised by that, they didn’t expect Luna to say that, especially Sunset. She managed to recover fast.

“By yourself?” Sunset gave her an evil smile. “Sure, I’ll take you on, it will be a good warm up until Hoenn league.” She then look at Gary. “Want to join in on the fun?”

Gary just match Sunset smile. “Sure, my Blastoise could use the work out.”

Then Luna realized what she just said, she had challenged two people at once. She became very unsure right now, she wasn’t sure if she could take one two trainers at once. Lucky for her, she didn’t.

“If Gary is joining Sunset, then I’m joining Luna in this battle.” Luna look over at him with a surprised look. “I’m not going to let my girlfriend take on you two alone, if she let me.” The answer Luna gave him was a nod with some tears in her eyes.

Sunset gag over what he saw. “Would you to stop, it’s making me puke. Let’s just get this battle started already.” Luna really want to punch Sunset in the face, but she was going to make her pay by beating her in a battle.

All four trainers headed to backyard of the center where there was a battle field, Sunset and Gary was one side while Luna and James on the other.

“Alright, I’m first up.” Gary took out a Pokéball, he then gave it a kiss and he threw it, out came a Pokémon that Luna had seen before. It was a Blastoise, a Pokémon she had use when they were at the summer school. She didn’t know anything about it, so she decided to change that, she took out her dex.

Blastoise the shellfish Pokémon. Blastoise has water spouts that protrude from its shell. The water spouts are very accurate. They can shoot bullets of water with enough accuracy to strike cans from a distance of over 160 feet.

Luna couldn’t help but think how powerful Blastoise was. Then it was Sunset turn, a Pokémon that was standing on two legs, it was red with some yellow, it had white hair and claws for hands. Luna look at the data.

Blaziken the blaze Pokémon and the evolved form of Combusken. In battle, Blaziken blows out intense flames from its wrists and attacks foes courageously. The stronger the foe, the more intensely the Pokémon’s wrists burns.

It look like Sunset’s Combusken had evolved and it look though, Luna but away her dex and got ready her own Pokéball, if they were going to use a beginner Pokémon then so should she. James thought the same thing as the call out is Swampert while Luna called out her Sceptile.

Sunset was a little surprised when she saw Luna’s choice. “I see that your Treecko has finally evolved, I can’t wait to set it on fire.” The red headed said with the most disgusting smile Luna had ever seen and it made her mad.

“Don’t let her aggravate you, just keep calm and battle your way.”

James was right, getting angry and making mistakes in battle was just what Sunset wanted and Luna wasn’t going to fall for it. she closed her eyes and took a deep breath to calm herself down.

Then Gary started it all. “Enough talk let’s battle. Use ice beam on Sceptile.” Blastoise send attack with an ice beam which was headed towards its target.

That made Sunset smile. “I want in on that, use flamethrower on Sceptile.” Blaziken attack with flames.

Luna was panincking at the moment, she had two attacks coming towards her Sceptile and she didn’t know what to do. “Swampert, protect Sceptile.” Before Luna could react, the mud fish Pokémon was standing in front of Sceptile with its arms raised, Swampert took both attack head on and the impact create a small explosion.

When the smoke cleared they could see that Swampert standing there, and it look he didn’t take any damaged at all.

“Aww, isn’t that cute, the boyfriend had to save his girlfriend.” Sunset said in a mock tone.”

Luna breathe sigh of relief. “Thanks James.”

He gave a smile. “Don’t mention it, let do a counter attack.”

Luna like that idea. “Sceptile, use bullet seed on Blastoise.” The forest Pokémon jump over Swampert, he then open it mouth and fire seed towards the shellfish Pokémon.

“Blastoise, use withdraw.” Blastoise disappeared into his shell and the seeds bounced off it’s shell. “Do you really thought it would be that easy?” Gary mocked Luna.

“And now your Sceptile is vulnerable, use another flamethrower Blaziken.” The blaze Pokémon attack with flames from its mouth but no.

“Use water gun on Blaziken.” Before Sunset’s Pokémon could attack, Swampert attack with water before Blaziken could attack, Blaziken took damage. Luna’s Sceptile landed on the ground unarmed.

Sunset didn’t like that. “Why didn’t you protect my Blaziken?” She asked/shouted at Gary.

“I’m sorry, James Swampert is faster then I remember.” He went back to the battle. “Use rapid spin on Sceptile.” Blastoise who was still in his shell, started to spin very fast and was headed towards Sceptile who had no time to move, he was hit hard and flew backwards a little.

“Don’t give up, use leaf blade.” Scetile managed to stay on his feet and then the leaf’s on its arms started to glow until they were blades, which struck Blastoise on top of it’s shell with stop it’s spinning. “Alright, nice work.” Sceptile smiled.

“Don’t get cocky, use flare blitz on Sceptile.” Blaziken was wrap in fames and headed towards the forest Pokémon who had no time to dodge it, Sceptile was hit hard and landed on the ground, unconscious.

Sunset was happy that she managed to defeat Luna’s Sceptile, but before she could celebrate. “Use hydro pump on Blaziken.” The blaze Pokémon was hit hard by water that came from Swampert, which manged to knock the Pokémon out.

Luna and Sunset called back their Pokémon, Sunset gave Gary an angry look which made him sweat a little.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t do more.” Luna said to James with sadness in her voice.

James gave her a smile. “Don’t worry about it, let me handled Gary.” Luna nodded with a small smile on her face.

Both Gary and James look into each other eyes, one could fell the rivalry between them, it was intense. “Use hydro pump.” Both trainer gave the order at the same time.

Both of Blastoise’s cannons fires water while Swampert attack with its mouth, the attacks collide and at first it look like both Pokémon was equally strong. Then all of sudden, Swampert managed to push Blastoise’s attack and before Gary could react, Blastoise was hit.

“Use mega punch.” Swampert launch it self forward as its right fist started to glow, then he hit Blastoise in the stomach.

At first it look like that Blastoise was fine, but when Swapmert started to walk away, the shellfish Pokémon fell to the ground and hit it with a bang. Gary called back Blastoise with his head hung low.

Sunset then grabbed his arm. “You and I are going to have a talk.” She then look at Luna. “And you. I don’t count this as a loss, as I see it was a draw and if we have to battle in Hoenn league, I will beat you.” She then started to walk away with Gary in her grip, he tried to resist but she was too strong for him.

As Sunset drag Gary away, Luna and James couldn’t help but wonder if they were dating or not. Luna could worried about that another time because tomorrow she would be in Ever Grande city to compete in the Hoenn league. And if she had to battle Sunset there, she would be ready and she was going to win.
