Lion's Roar

After Luna and Lumi managed to win their last badge, they with James were on their way to the next island which was Giban island on Lapras back.

“I can’t still believe you have a purple Lapras James, was it hard to catch her?” Lumi asked the former champion as they were embarked on Giban island.

“Not really.” He called back Lapras to her Pokéball. “You can say she found me.” They started to walk towards the Pokémon center. “In my travel through Kanto I got stranded on an island near Cinnabar island, I don’t know how long I was on the island, but I was running out of food. When I was almost out of food, Lapras just appeared in the horizon and she gave me ride to Cinnabar island. After I won my badge there I was going to take the next boat back to the main land when I notice that the same Lapras was waiting from at the docks, she gave me a ride to the next town, and we have been together ever since.”

Lumi couldn’t help but squeal. “That’s so cute, a Lapras helping a trainer like that.” Luna couldn’t help but agree.

After they had checked themselves in at the center, all three of them headed to the forest near town to do some training. Luna asked if James could help trainer her Litleo and he was happy to help. James decided to bring along one of his Growlithe.

They found an opening in the forest, Lumi decided to watch while Luna and James got ready. James was up first, he threw his Pokéball and out came a Pokémon that look like a small dog. Luna decided to see the data.

Growlithe the puppy Pokémon. Growlithe has a superb sense of smell. Once it smells anything, this pokemon won’t forget the scent, no matter what. It uses its advanced olfactory sense to determine the emotions of other living things.

Luna put away her dex and took out her own Pokéball and threw it, out came Lion cub Pokémon. “Litleo, use flamethrower.” Flames came out from its mouth.

“You use flamethrower to Growlithe.” The puppy attack with flames to.

The two attacks meet and at first it looks like the two Pokémon was equally strong. Then all of sudden Growlithe’s attack managed to push back Litleo’s and before they knew it, Litleo was hit and flew backwards, the lion cub Pokémon landed in front of Luna with burns marks.

“Litleo.” Luna ran to her with a worried look, she lifted the Pokémon into her arms. “Are you ok?” Litleo opened its eyes which made Luna relax a little. “Thank goodness.” She then look at James with anger. “What’s the matter with you James? You said you would chose a Pokémon that would match Litleo in strength, why did you pick one that was stronger?” She said with anger in her voice.

“I did pick one that should be equally strong as your Litleo, my Growlithe should be that. Maybe your Litleo is weaker than you thought.”

Luna wasn’t angry anymore, she was furious. “How dare you.” She got up and started to walk towards James. “My Litleo is not weak so don’t you dare…” That was all she could say as Lumi stood between them. “Move out of the way Lumi.”

“You need to calm down Luna.” She told her friend in a calm voice.

“Calm down? Didn’t you hear what he said about Litleo?” She said with anger in her voice.

“I heard what he said but maybe he is right, how long is it since you used Litleo?” Lumi asked in a clam voice.

Luna opened her mouth a few time, but nothing came out, she didn’t know. “I’m not sure, I think the last time I used Litleo was in my gym battle with Flannery, which was one months ago, maybe longer.”

Lumi nodded. “And when don’t use a Pokémon for a while they tend to get weaker, you have to use them regularly.”

Luna didn’t want to admit but Lumi was right, she hadn’t used Litleo for a while and for that the Lion cub Pokémon wasn’t as strong as her other Pokémon. “Your right, I messed up.” She turned around and started to walk back to the Pokémon center, little did she know that Litleo had heard everything.

Once she had return to the center and after she had healed Litleo, Luna went back into the forest and then she released Litleo from her Pokéball, the Lion cub was very confused right now. “Hey Litleo.” Lune bent down. “If you are wondering why I just released you from your Pokéball,” She let out a sad sighed. “it’s because I failed you as a trainer. I haven’t used you as much as my other Pokémon and for that I am sorry but sorry isn’t going to cut it, you deserve a trainer who can treat you better than I did.” Litleo couldn’t believe what she was hearing, her trainer who had hatch her form an egg is giving up on her. Luna placed a hand on Litleo head. “You are free now.” She got up and started to walk back to town.

Litleo just stood there, with tears in her eyes. She didn’t want Luna to leave. “No, don’t leave me her Luna, don’t leave me.” She ran after her trainer.

Luna heard that Litleo was coming after her, so she stop and turned around. “Don’t follow me Litleo,” That made the Lion cub Pokémon stop dead in its track. “I don’t deserve you, ok? Don’t make this harder than is already is.” Luna said with tears in her eyes. “JUST LEAVE ALREADY.” Luna started to run back to town and Litleo followed her, but the human was much faster than her. Litleo tried to keep up but then she trip on a rock and when she got back up, Luna was gone.

That night, Litleo sleep in a cave she found near where Luna had left her. She was awoken by the light that shined in her face, sat up and yawn, then se stretch her body. When Litleo saw where she was, she remember what had happened the other day. “I can’t believe Luna left me out here.” Litleo walk out of the cave to have a drink in a pond near the cave.

Once Litleo was done drinking, she look up at sky wondering what to do next. Should she go back to Luna and see if she wanted her back? Litleo didn’t know, she whish she was strong and didn’t disappointed Luna. Then Litleo stomach started to make a noise, she could think after she had gotten something to eat, Litleo was glad she saw some Oran berry’s on a tree near the pond.

Litleo had managed to get some of the berry’s down and was busy eating them but they didn’t taste good, the taste was bitter. “I miss Luna.” She took another bite of the berry in her pawns. Then all off sudden Litleo heard noises coming from some bushes not far from her, she hope that wasn’t any Pokémon that was stronger than her or bigger.

Then a Zigzagoon jump out of the bush. “Come on sis, why are you so slow?” Said the Zigzaggon who was a male

Then another one came out of the bush. “A lady never run through a bush, she takes her time.” Said the Zigzaggon who was female.

The male one just rolled his eyes. “Give me a break, we are trying to find food, not look pretty.”

The female one held a paw on her chest. “There’s nothing wrong with looking pretty.” Then they started to argue.

Litleo just watch as the two Pokémon started to argue, was this the way siblings behave to each other? She decided to speak. “Excuse me.” Both of them stop arguing to look at her. “Is there a reason you two are arguing?” She asked them.

Both of the froze when she spoke, then the male Zigzaggon jump in front of his sister. “Are you with Cacturne?” He said with venom in his voice.

Litleo was just confused right now. “Who’s Cacturne?”

The male wasn’t convinced, he was about to attack when the female step forward. “Would you cut it out Blitz, she doesn’t know who Cacturne is.” The female walk over to Litleo. “You have to excuse my brother, he can be a little hot headed sometimes.”

Blitz was offended by what his sister said. “Hey, I’m not hot headed, I’m a survivor.”

The female Zigzaggon just rolled her eyes. “My name is Belle, and this is my brother Blitz. What’s your name?”

Litleo wasn’t sure how to answer. “I’m Litleo.”

“I know you’re a Litleo, don’t you have a name?”

Litleo shook her head. “My trainer didn’t gave me a name.”

The word trainer me Blitz snort. “Trainer, don’t tell me your someone slave?”

That made Litleo’s ears drop as she look down on the ground. “Not anymore, my trainer abandoned me because I was too weak.” Then tears started to fell from her eyes.

Belle walk over to her and placed a paw on her shoulder. “I’m sorry to hear that Litleo, our trainer did the same thing. It was hard for us at first but not,” She look over to her brother who was busy eating an Oran berry.

Blitz notice that his sister was looking at him and she wasn’t happy. “What? I’m hungry.” He then continued to eat.

“How can you eat when Litleo is hurting?” She asked her brother with disgust in her voice.

“Easy, like this.” He kept eating the Oran berry until he was done. “So, what if she was abandoned by her trainer, it’s happened all the time. It happened to me and my sister, and it happened to you.”

Belle just shook her head in disappointment. “I am sorry about my brother, he can be a little direct at times, but he means well, sometimes.”

“Look.” Blitz walk over to the two girls. “I’m sorry that your trainer abandoned you, but it happens, and you just have to accept it.”

“I don’t want to accept it.” Litleo cried out which took the siblings off guard. “Luna, she hatched me from an egg, and she raised me. Then I let her down, I wasn’t strong enough.” Then she started to cry, she lay down on ground and covered her eyes with her paws. “I miss her so much.”

Right now, Blitz felt like an idiot. He didn’t mean to make her cry. “Look Litleo, I didn’t know and I’m sorry for what I said.”

Litleo got up and wiped away her tears.” Don’t worry about it.” She said with a sad smile.

Then all off sudden Belle’s stomach decided to make some noise, she was hungry. “I’m so sorry, I haven’t eaten yet.” She said with a blush on her face.

Litleo couldn’t help but giggle. “You have some of the Oran berry, I not hungry anymore.” Belle wasn’t about to say no to free food, she started to eat.

Once she was done, she let out a happy sighed. “That was good. If you will excuse us Litleo, we have somewhere to be. Hope to see you around.” She and her brother ran into the woods and it look like they were in a hurry.

Litleo just sat there looking where the sibling had run to. “I wonder why they were in such a hurry.” She was curious so she decided to follow them.

Litleo didn’t know how long she had been walking but eventually she came to another cave and there she heard some voices.

“Where is our food?” Said a voice she didn’t recognized, the voice was male that’s for sure.

“We don’t have it.” That was Belle.

“That’s a lie.” Another male voice she didn’t know.

Once she came to a clearing she could see the Belle and Blitz with their backs against the dead end, Blitz was standing in front his sister protecting her, it look like they were being threatened by some giant cactus.

“I am going to ask you two one more time, where is our food?” Said the first one again.

“We are not going to give you any more food Cacturne.” Said Blitz with a snarl.

Then the middle one step forward. “Wrong answer, bullet seed.” Cacturn shoot out seed from it’s mouth that hit Blitz, he was hit and flew backwards a little and it look like it hurt.

Litleo eyes widen when he saw, she couldn’t believe that a Pokémon would just attack like that, just because they didn’t have food. That’s just wrong.

“Hey, leave them alone.”

The siblings and the three Cacturne look at where Litleo was, the siblings was shock to see her while the three Cacturne wonder what she wanted.

“What do you want?” Asked one of the Cacturne.

Litleo look at them with narrow eyes. “I want you to leave Belle and Blitz alone.” She said while taking a fighting position.

The three Cacturne look at each other wondering what was wrong with the Litleo, then they started to laugh.

“Oh my… we got ourself a hero here. Why don’t you just bugger off, this doesn’t concern you.” Said one of them.

“Then I make it my business.” She open her mouth. “Flamethrower.” She breath fire towards the nearest Cacturne, she missed.

The Cacturne was very happy by the attack. “You are going to pay for that.” The Cacturne started to run towards Litleo. “Needle arm.” It’s arm started to glow and then it swung it towards Litleo who didn’t have the time to doge, she was hit hard and was flung towards the nearest tree which she hit hard.

Litleo landed on the ground hard and was in pain. “Litleo, are you ok?” Asked Belle with concern in her voice.

“Forget about the weakling, you two should worried about yourself.” Said the Cacturne who was in charge.

Weakling, that was a word Litleo didn’t want to hear. To Luna she was weak, she was abandon by her trainer because she was weak, she didn’t want to be weak. Was she weak? She did help Luna get her fifth badge, that’s not being weak. No, she wasn’t weak, and she was going to prove it Luna and everyone ells.

“NO.” All five Pokémon look in the direction of Litleo was getting up which was a little difficult considering she was hurt. “I am not weak and going to prove it, do you hear me? I AM NOT WEAK.” Then she started to glow and then she started to grow and before they new it a new Pokémon stood there. “PYROAR.” The new Pokémon was a lion with black and brown fur, the mane was long and beautiful, it look like it was on fire. “Now, let’s try this one more time.” Pyroar open its mouth. “Flamethrower.” She shout out flames again and this time it hit it’s target, the Cacturne that had hit her flew backward and crash with the wall, he landed on the ground in pain.
The other two Cacturne was furious when they saw what happened. “Hey, nobody does that to my friend.” Said the ‘leader’ who charge Pyroar. “Needle arm.” Its arm started to glow again.

Pyroar just doge the attack with ease. Then Pyroar fire appeared in Pyroar mouth. “Fire fang.” She bit the Cacturne’s arm which made him go up in flames, literally. The Cacturne ran into the forest in flames. Pyroar look at the last Cacturne. “Your move.” The last Cacturne was terrified right now, he ran into the wood. “I thought so.” Pyroar look at the sibling, Belle was helping er brother up. “You two ok?” She ask them.

“Yes, I think my brother’s pride took a hit other than that we are fine.”

Pyroar was happy when she heard that. “That’s good to hear, I don’t think those three will bother you anymore.” She then started to walk towards the forest.

“Where are you going?” Belle asked the royal Pokémon.

Pyroar stop and look over her shoulder. “I’m heading back to my trainer, I’m not weak anymore.” She then walk towards the town.

When Pyroar walk into town, she got a loot of looks. It wasn’t every day a ‘wild’ Pokémon walk into town, certainly not a rare one as Pyroar. There was a few trainers who wanted to catch her but there was only one human she wanted as a trainer. Once she entered the Pokémon center, she couldn’t see Luna anywhere, but she saw James and Lumi sitting by a table, she walk to them.

“How is she?” Lumi asked James.

“Not good, ever since she released Litleo she has been in her bed crying.” Pyroar was shocked when she heard that, then James notice Pyroar walking towards them. “Well, this is something you don’t see every day. A Pokémon walking into the center by itself.”

Lumi was confused by what James said but then she look in the direction he was looking and then she understood. “What kind of Pokémon is that?” She asked no one in particular as Pyroar stop by their table.

James wonder the same thing and then… “No, it can be.” He took out his dex and pointed at the Pokémon.

Pyroar the royal Pokémon and the evolved form of Litleo. With fiery breath of more than 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, they viciously threaten any challenger. The females protect the pride’s cubs.

“Holly crap, that’s Luna’s Litleo the one she released yesterday.”

Lumi’s eyes widen when she heard that. “You got to be kidding me.” She took out her own dex, then she saw the data. “No way, how did this happened?”

James was just as clueless as her. “I have no idea.” He put away his dex. “I’m guessing you’re here to see Luna.” He asked Pyroar who only nodded which made James smile. “Maybe this will help Luna understand the mistake she did yesterday.” He got up. “Let me take you to her, follow me.” James started to walk towards where the rooms in the center was and Pyroar followed him, Lumi decided to let James handle this.

Once they arrived at Luna’s room, he knock on the door. “Go away.” Said Luna from the other side of the door, Pyroar could hear that she was crying, and it almost broke her heart.

“Luna, could you open the door? You have a visitor.” James said in a calm voice.

“Just go away James, I want to be alone.”

James rubbed his forehead. “For fuck sake Luna, I know you regret what you did yesterday, but can you just open the door. There is someone here who want to see you.”

There was a moment of silence before James and Pyroar heard noises in the room, Luna was walking towards the door. They heard the door unlock and then the door open very slowly, what they saw was Luna who had been crying, a lot.

“Who is here to see me?” She asked James, then she saw Pyroar. “Who’s that Pokémon?”

“This is your Litleo who evolved into Pyroar.” James said with a smile on his face.

Luna just blink a few times, she didn’t believe him. “I don’t have time for this.”

She was about to close the door, but James just stop it with his hand. “Luna, you can’t be doing this, feel sorry for yourself. I made a mistake and releasing Litleo was your biggest mistake.” That made Luna look down on the floor in shame. “Even after what you did, Litleo came back as a Pyroar and she still want you to be her trainer.”

Luna was surprised when she heard that. “You really want me to e your trainer? After what I did?” Pyroar just nodded with a smile on her face.

Luna got out of the room and gave Pyroar a hug, she was also crying but this time it was tears of joy.
