This story takes place in the Equestria Girls Universe...

Applejack's horse is acting rather oddly, therefore she calls over a friend to help... Fluttershy.

AJ here apparently owns several horses. I'm no farmer, but I would have thought any owner of multiple horses would know what colic looks like. (Edit: she might only have one horse, but I still would have thought her more likely than Fluttershy to know what colic looks like, since the Equestria Girls Fluttershy likely doesn't take care of quite as many different wild animals compared to pony Fluttershy.
And if AJ had already called a vet before Fluttershy arrived, why did she call Fluttershy at all?

Finally, I would have guessed that Winona would still be a dog in the Equestria Girls universe.

you'd be surprised how stupid most horse owners are. the fact that aj keeps her horses stalled up is proof she knows nothing about horses.

6740569 Actually, the fact that AJ had her horse stalled doesn't prove the fact that she doesn't know what she is doing. However, you are correct about stupid horse owners.... to which, I have had the pleasure of knowing some. :ajbemused:

no, it fucking does. horses are herd animals, they belong in the herd, stalling them up for even hours of the day is abusive. the horse develops bad behavior from it. both because it becomes bored, and because it doesn't have to submit to the herd's pecking order.

Horses are awake 22 hours a day, humans sleep for 8, and they certainly don't even spend 16 hours with their horses, but probably about half of that. that means for the horse, 14 hours of it's time it is locked away in a jail cell, and often develops aggressive or violent tendencies, which leads to people leaving it in there longer. its abusive and terrible horsemanship.

6742440 I cannot argue with that case, to which again, stupid horse owners, but I just want to point out the reasons towards why I wrote that scene the way I did was to depict the common idea towards how usually horses are first presented (Usually in a stall or out in a field) and to give AJ "some" credit towards her knowledge of horses by stalling her up AFTER she saw Winona acting weird in the field, which could be assumed before the story began. So, I will admit that was a bit of fault on my writing.

Other than that, I am happy that finally someone with some horse knowledge commented upon some of the flaws in the story... Thank you. :yay:

This is a bit of an adventure story. I think both AJ and Fluttershy acted in character. I don't know that much about horses, but I think it's well done.
