When a new blank flank filly named Swan Song comes to the defense of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Silver Spoon finds herself doubting everything she thought she knew about her friends and herself.

This was pretty good, and I think Silver Spoon does have the potential to reform. It would be great. LIKE!
SIlver Spoon's cutie mark actually offers a few possibilities for where her talent wise. Some hypothesize it might be a talent for fine cooking, others for catering, others still a talent for silver smithing, another possibility I haven't seen considered is maybe a talent for nursing (using a spoon to dispense medicine rather than cuisine). There are undoubtedly other hypotheses out their as to what it means. It's quite possible Silver Spoon pre DT contact decided to make her parents breakfast, or was helping them when they were sick and didn't put to much thought into having gotten her cutie mark and thus having forgotten.
Of course this is all speculation and hypotheses.

Cutie marks can be very literal or very abstract in my observation, and how a pony applies their special talent is a choice they themselves make. I can't recall it but one fic I read and a bit where Rarity explain this. Her talent is Gem Dousing, and she chooses to use that talent in the field of fashion, finding valuable and beautiful gems to be the core of accessories or to add to outfits. Gem Dousing however could easily be used in other fields, such as mining. Rarity could haven opened gem mines by fining huge deposits and dig them up, or dug for diamonds to make cutting tools and drills. She could have become an archaeologist, finding gem laden treasure hoards and artifacts. The idea that Silver Spoon might have such and abstract cutie mark that she isn't really sure what it represents doesn't seem too far fetched to me, the cutie mark shows the talent but recognizing that talent and deciding what you want to do with it are a different beast.
I like this it is well thought out and something I might want to see in the show. Thanks for this, I like a short piece that gives me something to think about.
Hmm... Years of friendship between SS and DT... Ruined by one little speech made by a filly nopony had met before? AND SS never spoke to DT to get her feelings on the matter that she felt guilty for bullying the CMC? I also find it amazing how quickly the CMC caved in, and let SS join their little group after her years of bullying of them. Why, they decided in five minutes flat!! I DID appreciate the twist at the end when Swan Song turned out to be as much an antagonist as DT, but for being a rushed story with unconvincing character development I have to mark this down. Still, I've read a LOT worse...
PS I wish you'd have come up with a different name for Swan Song, as it was annoying that she had the same initials as Silver Spoon when you're too lazy to write everypony's full name down now....

That's some really good feedback. I just edited the "Forgiveness" chapter to address some of your complaints. I know I can't please everyone, but your complaints made a lot of sense and I hope I can improve as a general writer.
I see you got rid of the epilogue. The story seems better without it. The only thing I'm curious about now, is if Diamond Tiara's and Silver Spoon's three year friendship totally down the drain? Anyway, here is that like and fav I wanted to give you.

I didn't get rid of the "epilogue", I just moved it to the first chapter. And as for their friendship? I don't know, but it might be.
I hope that something like this happens in season 5 now with Silver Spoon and the Crusaders.

Maybe it shows their potential as leaders, but unfortunately instead of leading through good and the concept of "noblesse oblige" they went the route of little tyrants.
Well, that was unexpected. Looks like Swan Song is just as bratty as DT. One is elite because she could still get a "worthwhile" cutie mark and the other believes that simply being rich is a talent and having a cutie mark at all makes you better. Both are wrong.
However....it feels like I've seen this behavior before.
Now where could I have seen both sides being entitled, putting down the other, and genreally being mean... Oh right...almost everywhere. *sigh*
I always assumed Silver's talent was in catering or the restaurant business. She's wealthy, so she would make a perfect caterer for parties that the rich ponies throw, or she could possibly develop (or already actually have) a great talent for cooking and open and own her own bakery or something, maybe with Pinkie Pie's help.
