After a negative paternity test Shining Armor takes time away from Princess Cadence

Five years ago, three highly dangerous villains were turned to stone. A year after that, Twilight's protege earned her alicorn wings by defeating some of the most powerful monsters in Equestrian History. Everypony thinks they're gone for good. But one young filly...

That filly is Flurry Heart. Friendless Flurry Heart. Flurry Heart, student of the School of Friendship, terror of everypony except the teachers, nefarious for not being able to control her own powers. What powers, you ask? Flight and magic, any normal creature would reply. But that is not all. Flurry is no ordinary alicorn.

Confronted with a choice between joining evil and fighting against it, she has no answer.

It has been many moons since Cozy Glow, Queen Chrysalis and Tirek deafeted the Equestria ponies, even with the help of the other species. Ponies and creatures everywhere fought hard to rebuild and protect themselves against the War Trio, as they would be know; but the time they had to prepare was all thanks to the sacrifice Princess Cadance, in a selfless act to protect the ones closest to her, had her life cut short in the battle front.
Now her daughter, Princess Flurry Heart - after becoming the ruler of the Crystal Empire when just a foal - now travels to the rebuild Equestria. Even now far from its former glory, peace can be found in the lands however to keep it and for the Crystal Empire that way, Flurry must face the facts she has put others first for far too long. It's time for her to get used to her uncontrolable powers, make alliances in unsual places that don't involve politics, and face her own fears as she takes part in her 'auntie' 's School.

Another Hearth's Warming gone by, so does another year. Hearing of the many new families in Equestria, Flurry Heart wishes to try her luck at hosting a New Year's party. While she's nervous, she's got Amor to back her up, right?

So… ; since she’s still in diapers as a four year old; you’d probably think that she’ll get some help; right? Well… ; she did… . But the pony who’s helping her is… not so helpful… .

Regardless; will that pony succeed… ? Or will this pony not be so helpful as mentioned… ? Only one way to find out… .

35 years ago, in a single catastrophic event known simply as, The Great Crisis, the once proud country of what was once referred to as, Equestria, or the Pony Nation, came frighteningly close to being completely wiped off the map. The devastating consequences of that day are still being felt by the new generation, and especially by those who actually had the misfortune of having lived through it.

However, there was a beacon of hope that rose from the ashes of those terrible times, and that was the birth of a new capital: Dawnation.

Unfortunately, every nation has its own hardships to bare, and the sins of ours is that of a mighty burden. 14 years ago, another travesty connected with our civilization lead to the deaths of roughly 1,200 of its citizens in one single day, otherwise known as, The Dawnation Massacre.

Now, 35 years have passed since those days of painful hardship, and enough time has passed, that there are many who believe that these historical events should be written down and not forgotten. For if we were to commit the crime of neglecting our tainted past, we would be doomed to repeat it. Which is why this publication has been written up, and I, Luster Dawn, have taken it upon myself to interview those selected few who did witness and partake in these events.

A next gen MLP fiction that depicts Flurry Heart as a villain - always raised with the expectation of 'perfection' and 'beauty' because of being born as an Alicorn, yet it couldn't be helped noticing that her magical ability just didn't seem to be as... exceptional as others -wanted-. Whispers being to creep and fill her ears as darkness grows in her heart and anger brews in her mind. With it, comes a need for power but that requires ruling -EVERYTHING-. Can Nebula, her oucast of a cousin and handful of friends save Flurry Heart from the shadows of darkness?

Equestria is divided, Elements of Harmony are gone, the Ebedi Empire is taking over the globe. Portals from other dimensions open without any control. A former Imperial soldier on the other hand, finds something, or rather someone that can play a key role in understanding what is going on.

It started as an innocent trip to visit a friend in Canterlot. It has led to Queen Twilight's death.

As Aurora Oracle claims Equestria as hers for the first time in centuries, the world starts to unravel. Changes in leadership, uncertainty about the usurper's cause, and history long since blotted from books returning into the public eye. All of it has made it clear that someway, somehow, a war will ignite, but how soon it will remains uncertain to those outside of Equestria. While some do their utmost to prevent complete disaster, others prepare for the inevitable.

After all, war is coming to Equestria. It is simply a matter of who will ignite the flame.

This is a direct sequel to Fears of Bygone Eras. It is preferred to read it before reading Vessel.
