Flurry Heart, now a teen, goes on friendship adventures with her new friends. However, something seems to be going on in Ponyville, and they need to figure it out…

It is many years after the end of the original Mane 6's adventures in friendship, but the story is not over. Flurry Heart, now a late teen, just graduated Magic High School, and has been invited to Ponyville to celebrate with her Aunt Twilight (now an important figure in Equestria), and her friends. However, right after she gets there, Twilight has some urgent business, and the original Mane 6 (Plus Starlight Glimmer and Spike) must leave immediately, leaving Flurry back in Ponyville. However, she is not alone. She ends up staying with her "cousins", Twin siblings Pound and Pumpkin Cake, and soon meet three more Ponies: A quiet white unicorn named Whitacre, a country singer named Rough Rider, and a strange land pony named Goldenglow. They all become quick friends and start to bond, however something lurks in the shadows, waiting for the right time...

May 12, Entry 1

Hello! I guess I should introduce myself! My name is Flurry Heart. You probably know me from the legends of my Aunt Twilight. I'll spare you the details, since the legend is basically ingrained in most pony's psyche at this point. Instead, let me tell you about my life up to this point. I was born to General Shining Armour and Princess Cadence, and according to my parents, I was born an Alicorn. I know what you're thinking, 'Oh great! A chosen one born into royalty with special powers that put you above the rest! That story's been done to death!' First of all, I didn't choose to be born an alicorn. Second, if you're unhappy, blame the original series writers deities, and third, I'm actually not quite as good at magic. Honestly, I'm a lot better at flying than magic, which actually started out as a problem when I started school, as I was put in a Magic School as opposed to anything else. However, my parents were kind enough to allow me to study other things, and I while I'm average (maybe below) at magic, I'm a great flier! However, it still bugs me sometimes. WHY am I an Alicorn? my parents? a spell? the place I was born? But in the end, I don't have those answers. But honestly, I don't mind. I'm happy being who I am. I'm also happy to be around other ponies. Shocking, I know, but believe it or not, I love meeting new people, especially those from different walks of life. My mom says that's a sign of a great leader, but at the same time, I'm not exactly a leader. I'm more of a... third wheel I guess? But that doesn't stop me from making friends and sticking with them as long as I can! Anyways, what I'm really excited to talk about is today! I got this recorder as a graduation present so that I could start documenting my life as one just starting out in the world! Oh, I forgot to mention, I GRADUATED MAGIC SCHOOL TODAY! WITH (barely) PASSING GRADES! To celebrate, I'm going to visit my Aunt Twilight over in Ponyville! It's been such a long time since I've been there, I'm so excited! I also can't wait to see her friends and my cousins as well! Hopefully... huh...? .... *mumbles* oh, sorry, I'll wrap up in a sec... love you too, dad... Well, I gotta get to bed. See you later!

Chapter 1: Ponyville

Flurry Heart got off the carriage with a big smile. It was the first time in a while that she was able to go visit her Aunt Twilight in Ponyville. This last year was complete madness! It didn’t help that she nearly failed all her base magic classes, yet excelled in all her extracurriculars that involved flying. But, she got through it, and as a reward, she got to go see her Aunt Twilight. She looked up to her aunt, not exclusively due to the fact that she was essentially a Goddess of Friendship, but she was just an amazing person to be around. Twilight Sparkle had had so many adventures with her five friends and assortment of acquaintances, and she was not shy about talking about any of them. Flurry always loved hearing about how she took down the Changeling Queen to save Flurry’s mom’s marriage, or helped saved the Crystal Empire from King Sombra, or even the time she went crazy thinking she would go to Magic Kindergarten because she was a little late with a letter to HER teacher, Princess Celestia. She walks through town, making mental notes about all the places she would visit with her aunt, and finally comes to the giant purple castle in the middle of this tiny town. Flurry always thought it funny seeing this huge, elaborate, shiny castle in the middle of a small town that would barely be on a map otherwise.
She knocked on the huge crystal doors. As she waited, the palace reminded her of when she got her cutie mark. It ended up being a Crystal Heart itself, as it was basically ingrained into her identity. She had at first hoped it was something like a pair of wings or the like. But after she learned how her powers saved the Crystal Empire, it kind of just grafted itself onto her, both mentally and, as the cutie mark showed, physically. What could she say? She liked crystals. Suddenly, the door flew open, and a pink blur sped towards her and tackled her.

“Hi, Aunt Pinkie.” she said with a smile.

Aunt Twilight’s friends weren’t really Flurry’s aunts, but they were close enough that she considered them so. Twilight called Pinkie off her niece, and gave her a big hug, while the last four followed. Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Applejack all came and gave her a hug.

“How have you been, Flurry?” Twilight asked, inviting her in.

“I’ve been great! I have so much to tell you over…” she started as they walked into the castle. But she was cut short.

Spike and Starlight Glimmer ran into the room. They looked worried, but still greeted Flurry as they ran in.

“Guys, we have a situation.” Spike said panting. “Can’t it wait guys? My niece just walked in the door.” Twilight said, a little annoyed. “It can’t.” Starlight said, dead seriously.

Twilight noticed, and begrudgingly conceded. “Wait here, I’ll be right back.”

Twilight told Flurry. She waited for her Aunt curiously. She knew Twilight often had to leave to take care of problems all throughout Equestria and the neighboring kingdoms, but she had hoped she’d still get to spend at least a day with her. It didn’t look like the case when she came back out with a grave look on her face.

“It’s okay, Aunt Twilight.” Flurry reassured her aunt, “I will be right here when you get back,” Twilight smiled back “You’re sweet, Flurry. I’m sorry I couldn’t stay longer. It seems all of us need to leave as well.” She motioned to the other 5, as well as Spike and Starlight, all of which had disappointed looks on their faces. Flurry didn’t ask, but she knew it must’ve been important. She knew that much.

Flurry watched as her aunts flew away. This completely sucked. Why couldn’t trouble wait just one day? She sighed and thought, “Well, maybe I’ll go visit my cousins.” She walked away from her spot, and headed over to Sugarcube Corner. It was time to pay a little visit to her favorite cousins...

Flurry walked into the doors of the small bakery. It was still just as she had remembered it. The fluorescent pink and blues that decorated the lobby went very well with the smell of the saccharine and sweet cakes baking in the other room. She walked up to the counter, and rang the small bell. She waited a little bit while crashing could be heard in the kitchen. She decided to just take a peek in the kitchen, to see if they were in there. She walked behind the counter and took a peek, but one of the ponies working in there saw her, and she was soon tackle-hugged again. This time it was a male unicorn. He was a tan color, with a dark brown mane and tail that looked almost like frosting itself, and dark brown eyes. He wore an apron with the Sugarcube Corner logo on it, and his Cutie Mark was a bowl and whisk. Yep, It was Pound Cake all right.

‘FLURRY!’ He exclaimed as he pounced on her. ‘Hey, Pound! How are you?’ She said just as excitedly. As Pound got off her and started to chatter, another pony walked over to the doorway and smiled. This one was a female pegasus, with a bright orange, almost yellow, coat, and a deeper orange mane that also looked like frosting. She also wore an apron and her Cutie Mark was confetti and a party hat. ‘Hey, Flurry.’ She said, with a smug looking smile on her face. She was not nearly as excitable as Pound, but it was apparent that she was as excited to see Flurry as he was. That’s Pumpkin Cake for ya.

‘Hey, Pumpkin!’ Flurry said, hugging her as well. ‘How’s the Bakery been? I’ve heard you started getting into party decorating as well!’

‘Oh, it’s been pretty busy. In fact, ever since we’ve started decorating, it’s been a lot busier than it used to. I’m not complaining, though. More business means more money, after all ;)’

‘I bet! If you’re gonna cater, might as well get it decorated as well!’

‘Exactly!’ She said, slightly more excited. She still kept her smirk, though. Flurry knew she didn’t like to show excitement much, her brother was excitable enough. Still, she was a great jokester, and her brother was very meticulous and precise with his own projects, despite his hyperactivity and seemingly being unable to really calm down. That was why Flurry liked them so much. They may be different ponies, but they compliment each other so well that she can’t help but enjoy hanging out with both of them. And if there was anything she loved, it was people who got along so well.

‘Well, if you’re free, I’d love to go out to lunch with both of you to catch up!’ Flurry said, eager to catch up with her favorite cousins. Pound stopped chattering enough to listen and get excited all over again. ‘Can we, sis!? Canwecanwecanwe!?’ He begged his sister. It was hard to believe these two were a few years older than Flurry. Or that Pound was the older twin. ‘Sure, bud. It’s about that time anyways. :)’ Pumpkin said, as cool as ice. Pound rushed out to get some money, while Flurry and Pumpkin chatted a little. When Pound got back, they left to find a restaurant to get some lunch.
———- - - ——— -
On the way there, though, they were stopped by something curious. There were two ponies that Flurry had never seen before carrying a huge cart. Or rather, one was carrying a huge cart. He was a smaller unicorn, couldn’t have been older than 14, maybe 15. He was completely white, mane AND coat. His mane covered one of his eyes, which were both a pinkish color, and Flurry could swear she saw something move in his mane. The most unusual thing about him, though, was the fact that he had no Cutie Mark. None. Zip. Nada. The older one looked to be his mother, she was the same color as the kid, and had sky blue eyes. Her mane was done all fancy, and her Cutie Mark was a stack of books. She had a stern smile on her face, while the kid looked to be struggling with the cart all by himself.

‘Who are they?’ Flurry asked, watching as they walked through town.

‘Oh! so, you know how Princess Twilight used to live in a library before her castle?’

‘Yeah, I heard the stories. What about it?’

‘Well, last year, there was a petition to build a new public library for Ponyville, since, you know, there’s a giant castle where the old one was. It passed, and they finished construction just last week. That woman is the new librarian, Willow Words. The kid behind her is her son, Whitacre. She says he’s a little slow, but he seems just fine to me. Just kinda… shy.’

Flurry looked back at the two new ponies. The kid seemed nice, just tired. ‘Well, I hope I get to meet them!’ Flurry said, ‘But for now, let’s get to lunch!’
———
Flurry decided to stay at Sugarcube Corner for the night, as she didn’t feel right about staying in the castle while her aunt was gone. Her cousins and their parents gladly obliged, and she went to bed. As she lay there, many things danced in her head. She decided to make another recording…

May 13, Entry 2

‘Hi again! Flurry Heart here! So, today was kinda interesting, not gonna lie. I didn’t get to talk much with my aunt, which sucked. Apparently, there was some trouble she had to sort out elsewhere, and basically left immediately after I got here. Jeez, why can’t trouble just wait a day? Is that too much to ask? Anyways, I did get to see my cousins again, Pound and Pumpkin Cake. Well, they’re not REALLY my cousins, I just call them that ‘cause we’re so close. I went out to lunch with them, and had a great chat. Along the way, I saw some new faces in town. Apparently, it’s the new librarian and her son. I’m thinking of going over to the library and meeting them tomorrow. The son seems nice, so I’d love to meet him! Anyways, sorry for the short entry, but I’m super tired. Got a big day tomorrow! Flurry Heart signing off!
