Twilight Sparkle is a gifted student when it comes to math and science, but even the smartest unicorns can struggle to control their magical abilities. And when precision fails her in her latest assignment for art class, Princess Celestia is more than happy to offer her help in overcoming the challenge.

To some extent, at least.

After a long day in the fields, Applejack only wants to be able to eat her dinner and go to bed. The only problem, it's already occupied by a very ill Zecora. The Apples are famous for their hospitality, but when does Applejack have to draw the line?

Peter and Sponge Pudding are friends. They've been friends for basically their whole lives. Buds. Pals. Inseparable. Gone from simply hanging around one another as kids to now living together as young persons.

Their individual weekends plans have been scuppered, however, and now they have to make the most of things.

With predictable results.

The Changeling Hive is rigid, its ranks and rules unbending. There is one law that stands above all others; the Hive speaks with one voice.

But two changelings dare to speak with their own voices. They dare to defy the Hive in the most incredible way possible.

They crave freedom. Whatever comes next, live or die, they will do it as free changelings.

Local human Jamie is having trouble sleeping at the house of some friends of his. His friends are ponies.

In his feeble attempts to get to sleep he meets the other member of the household that he had never actually met before.

Flurry Heart is older now, and as such, has begun to realize the immense pressure it takes to become a proper Princess. So, after careful deliberation, she decides there's only one thing left to do.

Run away.

Until a certain Princess comes to speak with her, that is.

She is the One who Mourns, She Who Raises the Sun and Moon, the Reclusive Princess.

Years have passed since the appearance of the Mare in the Moon, years during which Celestia has left the day-to-day running of the still-young kingdom of Equestria in the hooves of Platinum's grandson Prince Pyrite. Each day she raises and lowers the sun and moon, makes brief appearances at diplomatic meetings and special events, and then returns to her chambers, too lost in her melancholy to even count the years as they pass.

But what will she do when she discovers that her trusted prime minister has not been the faithful servant of the people she expected? Will she lose herself to her grief... or to the same madness that took her sister from her?
