Twilight has succeeded in preventing her latest iteration from being trapped in this hellish void between worlds, but what will become of her now?

Well, a lot of people were clambering for a third iteration of this series, and I figured it would be nice to oblige that. I also think I needed this to help me through a particularly... long winded... bout of writer's block.

Maud isn't like other earth ponies. She's special, like her sister.

She can hear a voice, a voice from another world. At first it torments her, then comforts her, then befriends her. Naturally, Maud does the rational thing: she falls in love.

But will it last?

Twilight can not find her pillow.

It's been eighty-nine days since the Day of Darkness, and Twilight Sparkle is still on her own. Eighty-nine days since she talked to anyone other than herself. Regardless of how lonely she feels, she prefers the company of herself to the vicious "lurkers", as she calls them, roaming around outside of her library. Whatever friendly, loving creatures they were before the Day of Darkness, something changed them. Something created these insane creatures, and nothing, not even Twilight, can stop them. All Twilight can do is live — live to fight another day.

Before long, she begins experiencing horrifying dreams and visions of distant dimensions and indescribable monstrosities.

This is an attempt at blending the My Little Pony universe with Lovecraft's iconic cosmic horror.
