Everything dies. Sometimes, a life is left unfulfilled and with many regrets. The problem is, there are no do-overs. No second chances.

Not usually, anyway.

Sometimes, cosmic beings of unknown power just like to provide people with those second chances one such person thought impossible. Why? Who knows? All she does know is that she's now a small blue pony with wings.

A very young blue filly at that, and one who has to deal with the scars of her secret old life while living under the shadow of an older sister who doesn't know what to make of her.

Life is never simple, is it?

Rainbow Dash has a huge upcoming show with the Wonderbolts that she has been working on for moons. Fluttershy knows that despite her fright, she must cheer in the lost crowd, to show Rainbow how much she truly is supported and cared. However, being a cheerleader isn't quite as easy for such a shy mare. This story is posted on Ao3 from the account Lynneclipse in the story "Butterflies flying" which is a flutterdash oneshot story. This is the first story I posted on that, that I wanted to share here.

You may know her from her philanthropic work as the young student founder of the Birds Undergraduate Territorial Taskforce of Safety (BUTTS) program. Perhaps you were invited to her bespoke wedding (the colors: neon pink and electric blue) which featured the Longest Conga Line in Cloudsdale.

But perhaps, if you checked page twelve of the Cloudsdale Weekly last Monday, you would know her for another reason... the narrowly-avoided Plucky Lucky Disaster. Erm, the Plucky Lucky Wildfire? The Plucky Lucky Moderate Mishap?

Rainbow Dash is headed out for Mother's Day with her mom. She sees Scootaloo while out and discovers something she would have never dreamed. Now, she is faced with a choice that could change her life forever.

A few days before Christmas, Rainbow Dash and her family are setting down to dinner when they make a discovery in the snow. It soon becomes apparent how little Rainbow actually knows about her little sister...

Rainbow Dash hasn't spoken to her parents since her 18th birthday. She's never been good at forgiving and/or forgetting but her friends push her towards reconciliation on Mother's Day.

Ever since she learned about Rainbow Dash's parents (and helped them reconnect with their daughter), Scootaloo has been spending a lot of time hanging out with Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles, the two of them having become something of a second family to her.

However, Scootaloo already has a family, including a mother who is quite insistent Scootaloo be home by sun down. And when the filly unintentionally breaks this rule, she receives a visit from none other than her mother, Dizzy Twister.

But little does Scootaloo know, that Dizzy Twister and Windy Whistles used to know each other. And the question lingering on the filly's mind is: How is that possible?
