I was thinking about the Tree of Harmony and, we know that Sunset is, most likely, the 7th element. The question is, where did it come from and when was it created. Then, I began thinking about Starswirl and the Pillars and how they created the Tree of Harmony to begin with. The answer, lies with the Pony of Shadows, AKA Stygian.
Warning, I have to go into a bit of background first.
I forgot to add this to the end of the second-to-last chapter of Jerk-Ass. Figured I'd share it on blog form before I post it.

I commissioned Skijarama to do a reading of what I believe is one of my strongest stories to date. As always, he knocked it out of the park. He has a clear knack for drama and suspense storytelling. Please give it a listen!
0/10 - AWFUL (unsalvageable, never should have been made, wouldn't recommend to anyone)
1/10 - HORRIBLE/BORING (tedious, hurts to watch, a bore, no reason to watch him/her, whatever positive things about him/her are tiny and not enough)
2/10 - VERY BAD (slightly less terrible, maybe there were one or two things you liked kept him/her from being a 1 but still very painful)
So, thanks to a bunch of my friends requests to learn more about my version of the Pony of Shadows, I am posting this character profile to explain his powers, motives, etc.

After a long time of nothing, I have finally found inspiration again! This time, this new story of mine was inspired from the new episode, Shadow Play. The story centers around Stygian and the Darkness that tempted him to turn into the Pony of Shadows. Go ahead and give it a read!

I've already gotten a few stories written so far, but I still have a lot left to do (the Epilogue chapter of Sacrifice, a TF-themed story involving Red XIII from FF7, and a Teen Titans story). I didn't give the comics a look until after I'd binged the series' seven seasons this time last year. They hooked me enough to read the lot, keeping me going in early 2018 until Season 8 began in March. I've done research in bits and pieces since, gathering people's opinion on them, and it's certainly interesting.
Welp, finally getting around to do this ramble I’ve been wanting to do for quite a while. I’m sad to see the concept of the Pony of Shadows, Stygian included, didn’t get as much love and attention as I had hoped for after that season seven final.
Either way, I have some rambling to offer about it based on my own thoughts and observations. So, let’s go!

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has lovable characters, interesting settings, and quite a few captivating stories, but there are some aspects of the show that most fans would agree haven’t been fleshed out nearly enough. Aside from the lack of insight into some important characters such as Princess Celestia and, until relatively recently, Spike, there are many aspects of the show’s lore that have been unfortunately neglected. Take, for example, the enigma of spirits in MLP.
