Umbra and Oculus were, in fact, doing their favorite thing to do together; making out.
”Ack!” Oculus cried as Umbra slammed him against the wall, smirking down at him in his pompous manner. Oculus shivered and smiled back. ”My my...I think you’ve gotten taller...”
”Oh?~”
Oculus giggled as Umbra pressed against his neck, falling with him onto the floor.
”...hey Umbra, I—“
(With one final swing, Umbra finally manages to take out the last of Hikari’s chains. Suddenly, he feels grateful that Oculus thought about taking out her vitals first...)
”So... that’s it? You’re just... gonna kill me...? And leave me to die?”
”Umbra wants none of that to happen. An apology would be... acceptable.”
”You... you would. After all that noble shadow warrior bullshit...”
”And what are you saying?”
”What I’m saying is— I wanna be part of the little superpowered group you got going on.”
”...You don’t have any powers.”
”Well, actually, I’ve been using the magic of science, and—“

(Passion leans over to Umbra, then hisses a whisper...)
Starfruit dove back at the speed of the confessor’s leaping appendages; his joints bit harshly at the sudden movement and made him hiss in pain. The Writ Reader grinned devilishly-much unlike his motivations-at the ludicrous shift in position. His holy scripture fell into the satchel on his side, and the apex of his blade traced every groove in the brick road. These singeing sensations burned quickly through Starfruit’s ears and attacked his receptors with that awful tweaking noise.
”Umbra...”
”You are unstable.”
”Umbra, please...“
”I’m not going to get back with you.”
(Umbra turns his head. He’s never seen Hikari so confident, and then so dejected and vulnerable in his life...)
“Umbra...! Umbra, please, I love you... y-you’re all I have...”
”I just... don’t understand why you hate me so much. I mean, I just want my son to be happy.”
”You did not seem that way when he was younger. I remember like it was yesterday...”
(Thirteen year old Umbra and ten year old Passion are running around the laboratory...)

(By the time Umbra had cooled down from what happened with Passion Fruit, he had decided to knock out for a while at his place. Little did he know, someone had followed him...)

(Umbra blinks a few times before looking around... his bedroom was littered with chains, crossing here and there and obstructing his way out...)

(Umbra chuckles dryly. Starfruit gets concerned and takes a step back when Umbra begins to cackle...)
Starfruit gasped for air as he felt the tar like liquid deep off his body. Everything was there again. Reality was everything it seemed; whole.
For the past few years it felt like he was seeing everything through the eyes of another. Then again, it was...blurred.
”Get up.”
”Gah!” Starfruit jolted, looking back at the Umbrum. In an instant, his eyes narrowed. ”You...”
(Umbra and Passion are sitting at Umbra’s favorite bar, and both are undercover as young adults...)
”So what are we doing here again?”
”Ah, secret agent stuff.”
*gasp* “Really? That’s so cool!”
”Eheh... right...”
”Son. Over here.”
”Yes sir?”
”Passion, get behind me.”
(Umbra pushes Passion Fruit back, and he soon obliges...)
“Really, now? That is a lot more effort than I’ve seen from you a few years back.”
(Who they can now see is a female pegasus, who leaps into the air and lands right in front of Umbra. He trembles just looking into her eyes...)
”Hey! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you!”
”Hey... Umbra... I-I brought you some fries... I-In case you’re hungry...”
(Passion Fruit looks to the currently unconscious Umbra, who is hooked up to an IV stand right beside him, and a heart rate monitor, as well...)
*sigh* “You know, I-It gets really quiet... without you, and your Umbrumian snarks and quips...”
