I recently got to thinking about the different magics of the three races, and what the best description of each would be. Bear in mind that these thoughts are only my current headcanon, but I believe it is roughly consistent with what is seen on the show.
I suppose we should start with:
Unicorn Magic
Ok so I was encouraged to share my rant/thoughts on magic in Equestria here. That's your warning, if you don't want to read some internet nobody's thoughts and theories on magic in a magical pony world, then venture no further.
For starters, and to misquote a favorite perfectly purple pony princess, it's my trope and I intend to use it! In this blog post I want to explain my thinking in a non-story-time context since it has been asked about repeatedly.
It's been a while since I made a blog post, but I kind of wanted to share a thought I've had on magic systems and why I feel the best ones are the ones that have some tie or grounding in real-world physics. What do I mean by that exactly, well there are a few examples I can give but I'll talk about my favorite; Full Metal alchemist alchemy, The Immortals Game's god slayer spell, and Right's of Ascension's Fire magic bomb.
Some of you may know that I am Pagan, and psychic. I do quite a lot of spirit-work, and may post things on my off-site blog which are channelings from various spirits and gods. This is one which Epona asked me to channel, and I believe it may be useful for reference here. Dream Equestria is Epona's personal "zone" or "realm" in spirit, one which she says many pony fans have passed through in dreams or imagination (I believe her, having spotted a few in my own spirit journeys there).

How powerful is MLP FIM magic compared to others? (Canon MLP FIM, not yours or my crazy fan fictions.) Shows, universes, games etc.

So a little while ago I posted my rules of magic and it was mostly incomplete I finally looked back on it because I decided I wanted to use it to make a spell, but then I realized something; what is an aspec? What makes an aspec a thing? The way I've come to see it is spells are like molecules and aspecs are like atoms. Som what are the aspecs made out of? Atoms are made of protons, neutrons, and electrons. So what are the proton, neutrons, and electrons of aspec atoms? This is where I need
And official tittles from the University of Athena in Manehattan like Magus of Ethereal Sciences, Doctorate of Chemistry. One forget that Arcanum Folklore is a 'Druida' an Ereen Celtic Druid....
And a Druid is not something to ever take lightly....

Basics of Magic
If I ever found myself in Equestria, the first thing I’d do is go to Twilight’s library. Those books about magic... I’d like to read them all.

I got mine from the Kickstarter project, but now that that's over, you can also buy them on Etsy.
The dice themselves are very light, I suspect they may not be solid. The cradles are injection-molded (the prototypes for displaying on the Kickstarter were 3D-printed).
