Today’s post is going to be more about editing. Sort of. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
So first, welcome back readers! I hope you all had a good weekend! Especially with Episode 12 of Fireteam Freelance having dropped on Saturday. Was that a ride or what?
Yep, it's been ten years since this whole thing started, a little over nine years since I started watching this show, and...
A year since I've written anything for anything related to this fanbase. I'm usually an all take and no give sort of guy so that's no surprise, but maybe I should work on that part of myself. Maybe here would be a good place to start.
Happy ten year anniversary, to all of the crazy cunts still on this ride.
...I come home tired and plopped myself down on the living room couch. What do I spy under the TV?
I've never seen it but the internet is abuzz about it. So I pop in the first DVD and decide to watch one episode.
I've made a huge mistake.
While on the plane to BronyCon, I ended up finally getting around to reading my first non-Wheel of Time Brandon Sanderson novel. Elantris was the first novel he wrote, and isn’t part of a series, so I figured I’d start with that.
It may not have been the best choice.
Below are two fanfic reviews based purely on the initial impressions provided by the first chapter (or first 3k words.) For an outline of what my reviewing guidelines are, go here. Please do not request reviews!
My first Mature story review is below. I don't believe I can link directly to the story, even on my blog, so I linked to the author's profile instead.
...you forget entire fics.
Joking with a friend on Skype earlier lead me to reminding myself of a fic I was working on...months ago.

I've got a bad feeling about this...
Okay, I seriously need a break from everything. Internet, YouTube, stories, technology, everything.
One of my problems with FIM as it is now is Equestria itself. As much as I hate to echo the sentiments of a certain infamous author here, I do feel that the show has suffered from the shift in how it's presented Equestria as a setting; in Season 1 in particular, it came off as more of an ambiguous fantasy world with a few unique locations and ill-defined geography. There were references to places like "Los Pegasus" and such, and quite a few anachronisms, but those were done either for a quick
Heya readers and, in all likelihood, moviegoers!
For his reward, Somber Star asked/allowed me to get some thoughts out of my brain concerning the current state of movies, of which I have many, but specifically we’re going to talk about “franchising” and how it’s literally destroying everything ever.
I know it looks like I haven't been creative much - at least, if my writing output's any indication. To some extent, that's true: chalk it up to work, my parents being an incessant thorn in my side and good old-fashioned depression. But truth be told, there's been at least some work there, and I've gotten enough requests from folks I know to share it that I figure I should share what i have, complete or not.
Well, I couldn't think of anything fun/clever to do for the Question of the Week this week (sorry ), so I decided to present a potential project that I might be working on for my Saturday DnD 5e group and see your thoughts on it. Hopefully that will be acceptable.
I guess it's no secret that I've been working away on a sequel to The Laughing Shadow and am finally close to getting it done. But I got to thinking: it might be fun to do stuff in the 'verse that isn't always about cracking heads and dealing with shit above and beyond the norm an average person faces. So what I decided to ask you, dear readers—all two of you still on the site—is that would you all be interested in a side-story filled with one-shots that are more slice of life in nature that
Hey there everyone, it's time for an obligatory blog post in regards to updates.
Putting off reading stories and then doing lots of stuff less interesting than reading stories is stupid.
I still managed to procrastinate by wasting time on Reddit.
But I did get some stories read!
Today’s stories:

Okay, so before anyone says anything yes, I know I missed the February update and basically did f&*k all that month but in my defense work was kicking my flank so hard that month that I barely remember most of it other than endless pizza deliveries and rolling around in tip money. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you, but still...
