When Life Happens, Sometimes You Forget To Live. (April/May... and June report)

    *Very long, deep seated sigh*
You know... you'd think I'd learn from my past mistakes. Actually follow through on my promise to improve output of story content, or at the very least actually try to do some stuff. But, like Fluttershy said a while back, sometimes you have to learn the same lesson multiple times for it to sink in...

OH MY ARCEUS I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA EVER!!! (February/March Progress Update)

Okay, so before anyone says anything yes, I know I missed the February update and basically did f&*k all that month but in my defense work was kicking my flank so hard that month that I barely remember most of it other than endless pizza deliveries and rolling around in tip money. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you, but still...

A Significantly Belated New Year's Resolution Announcement (To Myself)

2017 was an interesting year for me. On the one hand my personal and professional life went fairly well. I got myself on track for training as a teacher, pizza delivery stayed mostly profitable with my new(er) car performing well, and I've learned much on many topics. And played some damn good games as well, of course. On the other hand, I didn't accomplish very much of anything at all in the

    Embracing Chaos 1000 views!

So apparently this little romance story thing I wrote in my spare time has been viewed a total of 1000 times. 1000. Times. Seriously, how do I really imagine that number in relation to something I made? I don't understand it. But regardless of my disbelief, sure enough, it happened. Strange how the world works really.

OH MY ARCEUS I JUST HAD THE BEST IDEA EVER!!! (February/March Progress Update) · 9:08pm Mar 22nd, 2018

Anyway, March! Just got started working on HS chapter 26, I know, I suck, but I already know what I'm supposed to do with it so it's just a matter of sitting down and doing it and NOT getting distracted by Monster Hunter World which is really, really testing my obsessiveness issues but I WILL persevere I swear! But absolutely none of that matters cause I just had (last night) the BEST IDEA EVER! Even better than that one that's a world-mixing of Equestria Girls and Twilight with Twilight Sparkle as Bella and Sunset Shimmer as Edward! (Yes really, that was an idea I had.)
What is this idea you might ask? Well instead of taking the long and winding time to explain it all in depth, I'm just gonna copy/paste my notes from last night for you to read so you can see for yourself! Enjoy, and hopefully I'll be able to get HS Chapter 26 out in time as well as the March 32nd one-shot special thing. It's gonna be a busy week for me...

Warning, big info-dump incoming. Brace yourselves!

Sunset Plays Pokemon Emerald!  (With Friends)

(Sunset, Gen 3, starter is Torchic, Brutal Tactician Fighter style)
When Sunset has her spat with Celestia and flees through the mirror portal, the world she ends up in is not the Equestria Girls verse, but the Pokemon World! Namely, the Hoenn region. Trapped in a new world with no way back home (at least at first, read up on portals to other worlds mentioned in Gen 3 remakes) Sunset has no choice but to try and make her dreams of power and influence come true in a new, unexpected way. It may not be Alicorn-ascension, but surely becoming the Region Champion is the next best thing right? And if along the way she solves a dispute involving legendary beasts, alterations to the weather, and a world-ending comet on the way, well, it’s all just part of the adventure.

(Twilight, Gen 1, starter is Squirtle, Methodical Mezzer Strategist style)
But unknown to her, Celestia had a second personal student waiting in the wings. One a few years younger but equally as brilliant, if less bold. At Celestia’s request, and with her faithful assistant by her side, Twilight Sparkle follows Sunset through the portal herself, only to end up in the Kanto region due to a quirk of magic. With no clue of where she is, where her quarry might be, and why Spike is now a long purple snake (Dratini), she must put together the pieces for herself and find her way around this new place. And document everything she sees of course. If only these pesky criminal types would stop getting in her way…

(Moondancer, Gen 2, starter is Chikorita, Steady Defensive Power style)
Soon after Twilight leaves, Moondancer learns that her best friend has left on an important mission and immediately starts worrying about her. After arguing about it with herself for a bit, whether she should stay and study to catch up to her friend or take a risk and go after her, she decides to take the chance to be with her friend. She goes to Celestia and begs to be let through the portal, which at first the Princess is hesitant to do but eventually relents when she sees how serious Moondancer is about finding and helping Twilight. Being the third time a pony has gone through the Mirror Portal, the magic again shifts, causing Moondancer to arrive close to Twilight, relatively speaking. Only a region away after all! So Moondancer sets off on her search for Twilight, along the way learning a few lessons about how to stand on her own without Twilight’s help and build her confidence in herself.

(Starlight, Gen 5, starter is Snivy, Relentless Confusing Sapper)
In a far off empty desert within a single, craggy mountain Starlight Glimmer works to find the cure to the disease of Cutie Marks, but has been distracted from her quest by a curious discovery in the fields of Time and Space magic. Her excitement at discovery getting the better of her, she does an experiment which creates a portal not through time, but into another world, into which she is dragged. When she wakes up, she is surprised beyond words at being an entirely different species, but is ecstatic when she realizes she and the rest of these ‘humans’ have no Cutie Marks to hold them back. Then she hears about their apparent enslavement of the local fauna and becomes worried, yet these ‘Pokemon’ seem to enjoy their captivity. Confused but intrigued, she decides to study this strange system, to see if it has any real merit to it, or if Humans and Pokemon can’t truly coexist. And along the way might find someone who actually agrees with her...

(Trixie, Gen 6, starter is Fennekin, Flashy Enhancing Overpower style)
Meanwhile, Trixie manages to mess up yet again in her stage show in Canterlot and is about to throw in the towel when she receives an anonymous tip about a source of great magical power hidden away in the Princess’s castle. Reluctant at first but seeing no better alternative, she decides to give it a chance, using her deft skill at illusions and trickery to make her way past the guards and into the treasure room. After a bit of flailing about with the artifacts trying to find something special, she catches sight of herself in a mirror that seems to call out to her. Next thing she knows she’s waking up in a weird new place with a weird new body and why is everyone looking at her all funny? After a bit of flailing about with figuring out how everything works again, she learns that in this new world, everybody who’s anybody uses these things called Pokemon to fight, work, and most importantly, show off. And if there’s one thing Trixie loves to do, its show off. Why, there’s even this fashionably dressed group of people who profess the value of high class and the importance of appearance. If only they weren’t aggressive about demeaning people who didn’t fit the-... WHAT?! HOW DARE THEY CALL TRIXIE A MERE COMMONER! THEY WILL PAY FOR THIS MOST DIRE INSULT!

(Tempest Shadow, Gen 4, starter is Piplup, Controlled Critical Debilitator style)
For as long as she could remember, Tempest has hated the sensation of emotion. It was sadness and bravery that sent her into the cave of the monster that shattered her horn, fear and panic that had forced her to stay still as it struck out at her, pain and loneliness when her former friends had left her behind because she was ‘different’. Over the years, she’d come to an understanding that emotions were a weakness, one that had to be trained out and beaten into submission, lest they distract from what truly mattered. Skill, power, and competence were the only things worth pursuing in her eyes. That was what had drawn her to the Storm King, along with his promises of wealth, influence, fame, and most of all… the return of her magic. That was why she followed his every order without hesitation, even as it meant burning down homes, forcing people into chains, and spreading fear and pain everywhere she went under his banner. She told herself that there was no emotion in her actions, only loyal obedience. Yet deep within she could not let go of that sense of satisfaction that now, she would not be ignored, not be mocked and bullied. Now, others would feel her pain, while she herself could rise above it.
But all that was struck from her once again when an artifact of power the Storm King had wished her to find, a remnant of the work of the legendary Starswirl, thrust her headlong through a portal into another place and time. And yet, for the first time in forever, she feels whole. Not as if a part of herself is missing, a black hole in her mind that would never be filled. She is complete again. What’s more, she is given a chance to start again with a clean slate, in a world that hasn’t yet forsaken her. Perhaps now she has a chance to try again. But does she deserve it? Or will memories of her actions cause her to doubt her rightfulness to a second chance? Is it right to let her emotions run free again? Or should she lock them away completely?
And what of the man who claims that even the existence of free will is an evil that ought to be expunged? Is he right or wrong? His cause just or dangerous? Who is Tempest to say? Yet who is he to say either? The time has come for Tempest to see the world through new eyes. Only time will tell what view she comes to see.
