Here is a small snip of the start of the next chapter, I plan on spending most of tomorrow working on more taking breaks every once in a while but I can tell this one is going to be very good, and even better once it is edited! This is the first page of the Doc! Hope you all are excited for the final chapter~
Hello again my lovelies!
Wow, two blog posts within a single month's time frame? I know, I'm really revvin' it up on this end, shit. Fortunately, this one is gonna be less ranty than the last one, or at least I hope so. This blog is going to be about some top tips for someone new to posting on this site.
Although it isn't, and won't be tagged. This blog is about Fallout: Equestria - A Song of Angels. I don't really want Fallout: Equestria readers to see this, least of all the ones reading my story, but if they are they're still welcome to read it.
There was a moment, after I hit publish on the story, that I thought about writing some notes on it. But I realized that it would be inappropriate—it may influence the judges’ decision, after all, and obviously for a contest that would be most unfair. Now that the contest is over and the winners have been announced, I feel that it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to talk a little about this
I know I'm not supposed to talk about this until it's done, but I'm in the progress of writing a new upcoming story with a possibly new and improved
writing style and I can’t wait to see what you all think about it once it's done and published. Though, I'm not going to give spoilers, nor am I sure when it will be finished and/or published, but I hope you all will love it!
The purpose of this guide is to teach you, the writer, what you should and shouldn’t do to assure the quality of your stories, and to show you how to best communicate with other authors as well as your audience. We, the authors of this guide, understand this will come across as telling you what to do, but that is the point of any style guide or anyone offering advice. There are many ways of creating and viewing storytelling. We are merely providing our viewpoints on it.
Hello all! Just wanted to let you all know that the second chapter of 'Doggy Style' is finished!
I often make references to the idea that writing is a constant quest for self-improvement. It requires self-reflection and self-critique. But there is a limit to this. After a certain point, self-reflection and self-critique always suffer from a lack of perspective. There's a reason you get reviewed annually at most jobs.
Greetings everyone!
I’m sure many of you have noticed the “How to make a good story?” threads popping up from time to time in many groups and blogs of FIMFiction. While it is impossible to fully answer that question in a meaningful way, certain aspects of a good story can be elaborated on.
A long time ago, well, a couple years, but basically forever ago when going by my FiMFiction, I wrote a story.
Nothing surprising, hell, I’m working on a long one right now (and that one is turning out to be quite long). But following The Endless Cycle, I wrote a story called Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, inspired by (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay, which is a song I love a lot. The story itself, is nothing spectacular, I was still finding my voice.
Hey! Welcome to the tenth edition of Grammer a Week, the periodic blog program-thing where I would normally address a frequently broken grammar rule and tell you how to fix it. This week will be a little bit different; in celebration of ten weeks of pedantic grammar soapboxing, I'll talk about where I get most of these grammar rules from. Style guides!
Okay...you guys remember Lyravator, right?
Well...the same artist revisited that gag in response to the latest episode:
How the hell did this artist manage this in less than a day?
Alternate style of pony drawing. Upright walker.
Trying for a looser, freer style using the brush stroke pen and the airbrush tool.
(Made in Mypaint)
On Tumblr and deviantArt.
And I look up and see a sign that says "AJ is best pony" with pictures of Applejack and her Cutie Mark plastered all over it.
The AJ to which they are referring is the WWE World Champion (at the time of me writing this) AJ Styles. He has a match against John Cena tonight.
Just wanted to say that wrestling is f*cking bananas, and WWE fans can be bronies too.
Trying a new style...
Hey, guys! I'm writing a whole new story with a whole new style. Though I need some opinion on it and how it's written so far in terms of style and prose. It's very unfinished, but I could still use some help on what to improve on with the new style before continuing. I need an outlet for my creativity as I've been told. Maybe I can PM you what it is if you want.
That Princeton fan-fiction course that covered "The Magician and the Detective" finally posted my interview on their blog… 2 weeks after the course ended, so nobody read it. But you can! It was posted here, but no point going there. You can’t leave comments there, and the slightly-improved version is right here:
Important Update Below!! Please Read!!
So in case any of you noticed, I have put all but one of my books on hiatus until further notice. This is not a mistake and will not be changing anytime soon. Under advisement from my grandmother, who is an English professor with decades of experience, I have made the decision to only work on one book at a time until it is complete. All other books are going to be put on the back burner until they are up on the starting block.
