Picture the scene: it’s spring. Not just kind-of spring, we’re not talking a day or two after the equinox, we’re a full month on and flowers are blooming and we’re going to see Hamilton in Chicago.

Merry Christmas, folks!
It's here! Do you enjoy sweet romance? Spy movies? Do you think holiday stories could use more demonic goat creatures? Well, then, submitted for your approval this Christmas/Hearth's Warming, it's...
So I've been reading pony fanfiction for over four years now. That's... about a quarter of my natural life.
Fuck, I've wasted my life the best years of my youth gone I don't even-
Okay, that out of the way.
I'd like to make a compilation of some of the authors that made me want to be the author I have not yet become.
Okay, so I legit just remembered something and/or imagined a memory of something.
Wasn't there at one point, like, a lil' Rainbow Dash on the screen that did shit orrr, what? Like, was that actually a thing?
Please tell me that was a thing and why ain't it a thing no more, I miss that little blue fuck.
Welcome to another edition of Read It Later Reviews. Today, I’ve got three stories that I had read previously, plus a story from a writer I had never encountered the works of on previous occasion and a Horse Voice story I hadn’t yet read.
Did y’all have a nice Labor Day? I got the day off and was productive enough to mow the lawn and poke at some of recent comments I’ve gotten on . . . well, you know.
So now would be a great time to complain about work.
The "It" in question being the earlier chapters of Desert Spice.
Back in April, I started on a set of Read It Now reviews. I ended up reading a couple stories for it, and then forgetting I had started a review set and never finishing it.
Today, as I went to read some recent stories, I realized that I had an unfinished review set, and as it wasn’t really quite timely, I merged it into this.
I managed to get sick this last weekend. It was a really rapid onset; within three hours I went from feeling totally fine to shivering uncontrollably, my head, shoulders, and arms aching, and a 102.8F fever which persisted for two days, along with some wonderful intestinal symptoms.
And then, today, I felt way better. Go figure.
Oh well, onto the pony fanfiction!
Today’s stories:
Farewell by obabscribbler
X is a Changeling by Minds Eye
One very well might think that a story that has not been updated in almost seven years written by an author who has not been seen in several years would be dead.
I thought it was dead, and I'm the author.
I think I was wrong.
That’s right, folks, today only I’m telling y’all the three biggest secrets to becoming a popular author! And there’s no need to send me three easy installments of $19.95 (although of course you certainly can if you want to).
Here I sit on the five year anniversary of when I first joined Fimfic. Wow. The site has changed so much; so have I. This site and the authors have become far more experienced, the stories far more nuanced, the comedy funnier, the drama sadder. We are all growing into true blue writers. 51 stories later, I am amazed and mystified at how much I was able to accomplish as a writer (350k+ words) but how much growing I still have to do. Some day I may re-write WestBoro in Equestria, My British Pony,
So, if you're like me and know Twilight is the cutest, most adorable little book horse, egghead, then you may like this.
Bet you can't!
I had meant to write a blog post that tortuously wound around to the tagged story, but while I was typing, I got a PM:
We’re back in Pony Life this week. Let’s see what wonders and horrors await.
