Signal Boost: Pegasus Pizza · 1:02am Jan 29th, 2020
In case y’all haven’t noticed the Feature Box today, right uptop there’s another not-a-contest story, called Pegasus Pizza. Ponies love pizza; that’s an actual fact.*

Sometimes I feel like the journey of a thousand miles doesn’t start so much with a single step as with rolling a rock over the top of a hill; it is hard to get it to the top of the hill, but it starts getting easier to push it once you get over the crest and it really gets rolling down the other side.
It would certainly explain a thing or two about me.
Today’s stories:
Fifty Shades of Toast by Estee
Numbers by The 24th Pegasus
Might as well make another blog about this story if there's more than 700 of y'all who might see it. It's the only story that's been updating semi-frequently lately and for good reason. Aside from what I've been writing for contests (and that one chapter for Distance, the majority of what I've been posting has been stuff from the backlog. That feels nice, too!
There are some writers who have little universes of their own. A writer who writes a bunch of stories in the same continuity. This can lead to a lot of fun, as we can see hints of future stories in past ones, and vice-versa, and there’s a sort of interwoven tapestry between them. From Ghost of Heraclitus’s Civil Service stories, to Skywriter’s Cadance of Cloudsdale cycle, to Estee’s Tryptich verse, there’s a lot of fun to be had in these stories.
Two days of reviews in a row? When was the last time that happened?

Some folks have been writing some interesting stories lately.
Clearly, that means it is time for some reviews before I dig into grading tests.

I was going to devote this post to stories about Dragon Lord Torch, in honor of me writing a story about him, as well as an excuse to populate my new group with stories about him.
I then learned that there are four stories on FIMFiction which appear to be about Dragon Lord Torch, or at least feature him heavily.
Happy Saturday, everyone!
If you haven’t heard, Obselescence is stepping down as a FIMFiction moderator, so feel free to go over there and thank him for his time spent here.
Then, perhaps, do some reading?

I’m not good with romance. I am to romance what a fiberglass handjob is to foreplay. I have been defined as “an emotional wet fart” by at least three different psychologists.
It is amazing how long a couple weeks can feel like.
At the time of writing, less than a week ago I was at Everfree Northwest.
It feels like it was forever ago already.
I was feeling like I haven’t recommended a story in a long time… but the last story I read that got added to my Recommended list was read on May 11th, only 11 days before I wrote this introduction (which I then took four days to post).
I always feel a little bit guilty doing non-writeoff reviews during the writeoffs, but given how frequently the writeoffs happen these days, if I didn’t, I’d hardly do any at all.
Okay, so when I said I'd update this whenever I felt like it, I didn't actually intend to wait quite this long before writing the next chapter.
Regardless, for those of you who remember this little fic, chapter 11 is written and posted! Hopefully there'll be more on the way. I've still got a few bigger projects to work on, but this one will always hold a special place in my heart.
I just hope it looks good. I paid extra moneys to have it made with a professional material finish to keep it from wearing and fading away. Like a plastic wallet basement nerds put their super-duper-ultra-mega-hyper rare limited edition superhero comics in.
If anyone reading this is one of such people who do that, we (that's Unique and I, by the way) would like to apologize to those people who were offended by that comment.
Trying to get back on the horse that is writing reviews (and reading pony stories), this particular set contained a surprising number of memetic stories.

...I want all of you guys and gals to promise me you'll support each other and anyone else who needs it. That you will help each other out and set an example to others. Also take care of Twidashloverxox (aka RagnarisFellhanded on YouTube) for me, and promise to do as much good in this world and with your lives as you can.
I have written reviews of video games I have played for a long time. I realized that it was kind of silly that I only ever posted them on Steam and Metacritic, and not here. So I thought I'd start out with something of a doozy - The Talos Principle, a game which was widely regarded as the game of the year of 2014 (and not just because the cover art has a robot petting a kitten).
Yesterday, I said I’d maybe take a break from recent story reviews to work on my own stuff.
Then my feed exploded with stories.
You monsters. It’s almost like you want me to keep reading!
But for all your work, I am grateful – today was a very good day for pony fiction.
Today’s stories:

Also, I got a watermark app! (That's why I have a new, snazzy watermark)
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a blog. Mainly because I’ve been trying to finish the TLS sequel. Guess what?
It’s done now.
Bad news: Done doesn’t mean finished. This thing is going to need editing and prereading to make sure it’s up to snuff to publish (my apologies into the poor saps that agreed on reading this. But look on the bright side: eventually it ends)
Well. This is certainly a thing. Remember The Company We Keep? Y'know, that cheesy supernatural horror-comedy that I wrote with Cadance progressively going insane, but in style? And all the ghosts and stuff?
Just like Tomb of Magic it's finally gotten an updated and revised version, with some new dialogue and any errors - like continuity errors - fixed. Unlike TOM it didn't need any new scenes or anything, but there's about 2-4k* of words that weren't there before now.
