Every night, Twilight Sparkle sleepwalks to the shore of a river in the Everfree. She knows she needs to get to the opposite side, but flying, teleporting, and canoeing have all failed. When Zecora finds her there one night, she offers to train her in Zebrican magic to get her across.

Together, Twilight and Zecora discover themselves and each other. And as their relationship deepens, the river beckons to Twilight ever more, calling to her flesh, destiny pulling at the marrow.

This is a story of coming-of-age for alicorns, of discovering love even as life seems to dissolve into the air around you, of making peace with your purpose and rebuilding confidence; a story about zebras and Equestria as a whole, about peace and exploration.

[This is a Twicora story. The perspective is experimental; "I" is Twilight Sparkle and "you" is Zecora.
The teen rating is for some language and thematic elements, one mention of masturbation, a conversation about suicide, and excessive cuddling.]

Inspired by both this and this. Source for the cover art is here.

Six years ago, the first kaiju emerged from deep within the ocean and rampaged through sixty square miles of the Pacific Northwest, including the town that used to be my home. In the months that followed, we found out we weren't the only ones to be attacked—across the dimensional divide, our friends in Equestria suffered even more cataclysmic losses than we did. Even after our two species came together, we couldn't stop the beasts from coming, nor could we save any city they chose to destroy. We were at war—and we were losing.

But then, two years after the kaiju war started, billions of dollars and millions of wasted lives later, we figured out how to get back on top. We fought back. We started winning. And it was all thanks to six teenage girls, a little bit of magic, and their technicolor talking pony clones.

Okay, yeah, I should clarify: there was a lot of magic involved.

In the brief moment when one guard leaves and a new guard arrives, everything slows down for a few moments. Then things resume again, a new face on the same mission.

*A love letter of sorts to this beautiful series that has done so much for us.
*Big thanks to Pascoite for his editing and pre-reading advice as I worked through one draft after another.

Sometimes the last page of one story is just the first page of another. Sometimes Pinkie Pie and her family are endearingly weird. And sometimes Twilight finds happiness in the small things, even in her darkest hours.

Friendship is magic. So is the hobby of arts and crafts.

The war pressed ever northwards, and Luna lead as the tip of that spear. Before her lay the abandoned town, Snow Vale. A safe pass through the mountains. A staging ground to strike at the Empire's very heart.

Sombra's beaten and broken slave-soldiers were retreating into the town. An oncoming blizzard darkened the horizon and within, icy demons fed to bloating by the war bay and howl. Luna narrowed her eyes. It would come too late. She would rout the enemy. She would take Snow Vale. She would claim the pass for their armies.

Half a league. Half a league. Half a league forwards.

Luna regarded her soldiers. Bright eyed, hot-breathed, ready. She smiled and gave the order.

They charged.

I'm adding another scene to the finale of the show. One change that I feel I needed. This isn't to overwrite canon, or change it. It's more of me wanting to write a farewell to the show I loved.

This scene takes place after all the flashbacks in The Last Problem. It's a continuation of the scene where the Council of Friendship is formed.
