Applejack and Rarity are headed out on a lunch date to one of Applejack's favorite lunch spots. Despite knowing that they can be polar opposites when it comes to things like this, Rarity is keeping and open mind.

Rarity can see it clearly.

The way Applejack laughs around Coloratura, the way she smiles. The way Coloratura hangs on Applejack's every word, the way her eyes light up whenever they glance at each other.

Friends since fillyhood, Applejack and Coloratura share a relationship deeper and more special than most ponies will ever know.

But Rarity and Applejack were fillyhood friends too. Shouldn't that be just as special?

Celestia has decided that she is no longer a filly, and is instead a mare who is too old for silly games and can't go along with all the 'nonsense'. Luna, disagrees with this. But as Celestia does it for longer, she realises that it may have not been as good of an idea as she first thought...

Because sometimes we can't get enough of what hurts us the most.

When Rainbow Dash's special somepony leaves her, she falls into a funk. Luckily, Fluttershy knows how to get her out of it, but it requires trust.

At the cusp of a mistake, and at the edge of temper, Applejack and Rarity find themselves stranded in a place between home and Dodge. But perhaps fate had kept them apart for a reason; for when the truth finally emerges, it's soon clear which pony loves who... and which pony doesn't.

But when they finally understand the intricate webs upon which they stand, it will take something a little bit more than love in order to save them from the fallout.
