What would happen if Discord had won, turning the wielders of the Elements of Harmony into stone and hiding them away for three thousand years? And what if a curious Pegasus pony discovered the legend of the lost mares and set out to rid the world of the Lord of Chaos?

The Industrial Revolution smothers Equestria, and the only way to gain the resources needed to power the giant machines being created is by pleasing the mountain owning Gryphon Empire. But when Celestia holds a grand fair for the Empire in Canterlot, murders become rampant, and the new secret service and the Twilight Sparkle must uncover the murderer before Equestria is crushed under the weight of their new machines.

On the outside, Resolve appears to be a typical earth pony. However, after he is badly injured in a horrible accident, things don't go quite as planned with his recovery. This leads to a discovery that will completely change Resolve's life - in ways he never would have expected.

Every cloud has a silver lining.

Twilight and Rarity are sent to identify a mysterious artifact found in the Crystal Mountains. The journey is long, and while traveling in the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of the North, Twilight starts to discover entirely new feelings towards her friend.

But their mission is not sugar and spice, for under the Northern skies, something ancient has awoken.

After Pinkie Pie Suffers a severe head injury, in her forehead is discovered something that an Earth Pony should not have. This gives answers to where she gets her abilities, especially how she seems to be able to defy the laws of physics. This also explains some of her craziness.

How will her friends handle this, and can she learn to better harness the magic within?
