    Soon!

I think I've used that blog title three or four times now.

Anyway! New chapter of Spectacular Seven is almost done! I was hoping it would be done this week so I could post it on Saturday, but I need to rewrite a scene. And that's before I edit it! And before Drakey edits it! The good news is...

    Ten Years, Still Here

I think back to my nascent days here, reading stories and typing out my own, hoping for the day where I could call myself a veteran of the fandom. My stories would be remembered and I would stand alongside authors like Pen stroke and Aragon.

And I look where I am now and go, ‘well, you got one big hit. Good enough.’

    Thank You

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe or spread the word for it. It really means a lot. Thanks to your donations and getting a little more on my first paycheck than I thought I would, I should be able to stay afloat again.

Five Years of Horsewords and Human-Horsewords! · 11:15pm Jul 23rd, 2017

Half a decade now. Five years ago, I made an account here on Fimfiction to indulge in reading horsewords and trying a feeble attempt at writing them.

Now it's become quite the opposite. Here to write and feebly attempt to read.

My, how things have changed. Below the break, find one of the two times of the year where I freely talk about what I accomplish when I'm not being lazy. I've learned and discovered so mush in these years, it's hard to imagine sometimes.

I won't bother with my origin story again. Today just marks the day I decided to join the fimfic community instead of digging through EQD's messy story compendium. After being dumb enough to submit a story to EQD and being quickly rejected, I decided to keep reading and learn through osmosis. A few months later, I would finally post a story I didn't cringe at when I read through it (I cringe now because, geez) called Concordia's First: Mingling Worlds. It was to be the first in a four part epic that sadly will never go anywhere now.

It wouldn't be until spring of 2013 where I found my drive. You all know it as Sunset ot Time. The story that made me realize that writing was my true passion and I wanted to do it for the rest of my life.

Five years I've been doing this now. Sometimes, it feels like it's been forever, but other times, it's flown by. I never thought I'd be here this long or come this far. I've seen better authors than me disappear into the aether, and others who joined around my time rocket to stardom as well. I've had friends come and go, and some come back. I've seen stories completed, and sadly, several more go unfinished (Powers of Harmony why!!!!????)

It's funny to think how things change over the years. I was a doey-eyed fledgling writer, having only written short stories for classes or roleplaying groups. Five years in, and I think I'm one of the veterans now. Certainly not one of the fimfic elites, but I've been around the block once or twice. I've had my share of failures and successes.

... I created the Sunset Shimmer bandwagon! I wrote Sunset of Time in a cave! Withaboxofscraps!

Ego moment over. But if I told myself in 2012 that I would actually be remembered for something, that all my fantasizing weren't just pointless dreams... I wouldn't believe me.

But a lot of my accomplishments wouldn't have happened without all the awesome people I've met so far. JustAnotherTimeLord for taking on editing for Sunset of Time and turning my mediocre skills into something noteworthy (and teaching me the value of the Oxford Comma). Cerulean Voice for editing several of my stories, helping me with my descriptive language and being generally awesome! DrakeyC for Across the Shimmering Sea and Spectacular Seven and being another great nerd to talk to. Nomad_Sigma for his work on Long Road to Friendship

The list of awesome people kinda just keeps going on. Zomg(I don't care if you changed your name, I'm still calling you Zomg, you smug bug!), Scipio Smith, Justice3442, MythrilMoth, TheLoyalBrony, Quillamore, Foals Errand, Jumbled Thought, Ladrain , JayMan155 and everybody in Novel's Nook! Gabriel C Media for his awesome comments!

Oroboro, crown princess of Sunset shipping fics and Sunset fics in general, and mastermind of heartwrenching tragedies. If you want your heart stomped on, go read his stories.

And yesterday, I got to meet and spend the day with two dear friends and talk pony outloud for the first time in... like, two years! Novel Idea and Monochromatic! We got to spend a whole day gushing about our stories, enjoying cups of the tears of our readers, and proving that you have to be some level of crazy to be a writer. I had a wonderful time!

And thank you to everyone else I didn't mention! It's not because I don't like you, it's because I'm a scatterbrain! Everyone who's liked and followed and commented (especially if you commented) thank you so much! I wouldn't be here without you!

I have learned and grown and inspired others to write themselves. If nothing else, I'm so happy that I've spurred others on. I also feel guilty because I've condemned you to a life of writer's hell. Writing isn't easy, anyone who says otherwise is a bad writer. Some nights, you'll wish you had picked any other hobby. But somebody has to do it, and I love entertaining you guys with my continual torment of Sunset Shimmer.

You're just stacking the karma cards in my favor. One day, I'll have my payback. In the meantime, keep writing, or I'll bring Novel in here.

... We have a very healthy relationship. But enough of my rambling, I still have 10,000 words to go before I reach my monthly goal. Thank you all again for five wonderful years, those of you who have been with me since... well not the beginning because there wasn't much there, but since SoT, to all of you just coming in now. I hope I can entertain and inspire for a few more years.

And now, more Sunset!

See you all down the road!

Happy five years Albi! *hugs tight* My four year will be this November ^^

I created the Sunset Shimmer bandwagon!

You are not forgiven, you godless heathen.

Congrats. I actually forgot that you'd been on this site longer than me.

*raises a glass of tears* A toast to the King of Sunset fics and many more years of successful stories to come, be they horsewords or no.

Here's to five more years Albi! Whoo!

It seems that going through the wringer has only made you stronger.

It’s always nice to see you around, and here’s to many more years.

happy five year anniversary would it be called

It's always a joy seeing you in the Nook. Here's to you, and to Sunset Shimmer, may she reign forever.

My own five year anniversary on the site passed a couple of weeks back and I didn't even notice. @_@;;

We have pretty much the same history here; joined to read and share a few fics, ended up writing tons of Sunset Shimmer fics and getting very little reading done. :rainbowlaugh:

Cheers!

Happy fifth anniversary! I've enjoyed reading your work since I got into fanfiction and you've been my favorite on this site. Take great pride in how you started the Sunset bandwagon; best pony/human deserves all of the love and you brought her up from less than a seedling on this site. Thank you for sticking with us for so long and I look forward to seeing you finish all of your planned works.

You wrote one of my favorite stories on the site, Long Road to Friendship, and in general, I just like your writing and blog posts. I'm very glad to have you here. I don't consider myself one of the big writers, so when I saw you make a comment on Home is for the Weak, I squealed like a little girl! Thank you for being a writer I look up to, thank you for giving me stories I've not also read, but reread four times now, thank you for enjoying a story of mine and making me feel special for a minute or two, and congrats!

Those are sum great horse words Albino~

Congratulations. Nobody does Best-Pony-Turned-Human better.

You only just hit five years? What a young 'un :rainbowwild:

Huh, five years already? Who knew time flew so fast?
Other than that, your 'Sunset Shimmer join in' idea for these blogs inspired me to do one for my O.C.! I'm still doing it now, actually.

Hey, Penelopea here! Dropping on to this comment for now!

Anyways, Long Road to Friendship was one of the first stories I've read on this site! Well... on my alternate account. Can't access it anymore since I can't find the password.

Getting off track here, that story is what incurred me to follow you on Fimfiction in the first place. I do not regret that one bit.

Here's to another year!!!!!!

Congrats on the five year anniversary and many more to come.

You're just stacking the karma cards in my favor. One day, I'll have my payback. In the meantime, keep writing, or I'll bring Novel in here.

I'd totally do it in a heartbeat, too. :ajsmug:

And yesterday, I got to meet and spend the day with two dear friends and talk pony outloud for the first time in... like, two years! Novel Idea and Monochromatic! Glad you had a great time, Albi. Same here. :pinkiehappy:

Congratulations, good sir. You deserve the kudos, the followers, the likes, the comments and every single therapy bill sitting in a stack two feet high right next to you. Sticking around in a fandom for five years is a big freaking deal. And that you're still coming on strong? That's impressive as hell. Don't let anyone take that away from you.

You've done an awesome job. And I have every faith that you'll get even better.

Five more years! Whoo! No brakes on this Sunset Shimmer train. :pinkiecrazy:

I don't know why I'm worthy of such honorable mentions. I'm glad I could be of some good though!

Happy four years!

4610461 That's right, you intolerant infidel. I am your senior!

Thank you!

4610506
It's great talking to you too! May Sunset's reign be long and glorious.

4610535
It's funny. I always thought you were here way longer than me. I would see your stories and think 'Damn, he's one of the cool ones. I'll never be like him.'

4610590
Thank you for enjoying my stories! I always enjoy reading your comments.

4610601
Glad you loved LRtF, and thank you for writing HiftW. My comments really aren't much, but I'm glad they brightened your day.

4610630
Five out of seven ain't bad, old man.

4610693
I broke the brake lever a long time ago! We either keep going until we run our of steam or die in a fiery explosion!

4610695
Friends always deserve an mention!

4610713
You're a Shimmerwhore, that automatically knocks off your seniority. Also, I'm older than you, so I get points in my favor.

*Cheers*, Albinocorn!

Here's to a successful 5 years more!

4610713
Pssh, you're way better than I am. :rainbowwild:

4610713
That, is a really good point. Happy five years, fifteen more before you can retire. :raritywink:

Happy Big Five! *throws confetti*

I've only been reading your stories for five months. But they have been an absolute pleasure to read.

Congratulations on five years! I'm glad you still have the drive to write horsewords (and non-horsewords), partly because it's inspiring to see people who can keep the drive for writing, and partly out of a selfish desire to read more of your horse(and nonhorse)words.

4610714, 4610713
Eh, I'm older than you and he gets my vote. So there.

Glad I stumbled upon your fics. No one comes close to writing Sunset like you do. I loved your stories so much that she is easily my favorite character. I need to read Sunset of Time. Apparently I somehow missed this and IT SO GLORIOUSLY LONG!!!!! :pinkiecrazy:

When I am brave enough I hope to write my own Sunset fic and make it something worth reading.

Sunset of Time, Long Road to Friendship. Beautifully created worlds. yay :yay: :twilightsheepish:

Awww, Happy Five Years!!! :'D

It's an absolute pleasure discovering your work :'D. I've said it many times before, but your is easily among the most professional I've seen around here. Heck, I remember even saying you ought to print Sunset of Time into an actual novel format like how they tried with Past Sins. Your works are masterpieces and you've explored so many wonderful scenarios with everyone's fiery little rebel and wrote them so well ^U^.

But more than all of that, I'm happy this helped you find yourself <33. My story is literally the same in many ways and I don't think we're the only ones!! Friendship truly is magic and it's incredible how this fandom has inspired others to discover themselves and move onto creating incredible work which, in turn, inspires others!!

I mean, for me, my plate is kind of full at the moment with professional VO, music, art and other things I'm trying to do. But I know I have a great writer inside of me, and you can bet that your work has definitely got that guy awake. You should definitely be proud of yourself :D.

Considering how I've only known you for six months out of that five years, I'm honored and surprised to see myself in that list. The best of luck to you on the rest of your writing!
