Human Baby Trixie update! · 3:01pm Jun 16th, 2015
It's been a while since I posted pictures and stuff, so here are some pictures and an update on my daughter Trixie. She'll be 11 months old at the end of this month.
So, Trixie is getting close to walking. She can stand on her own and take a few steps. I'd be surprised if she isn't walking by BronyCon. She's babbling a lot but not talking yet. Recently she's started babbling along with songs on TV, not really in tune, but it's clearly with the song. (I first noticed it during "Pinkie's Lament" in Pinkie Pride, because she babbles slow and soft at first, then starts bouncing and chirping when it picks up tempo at the end.)
Did I mention she watches a lot of MLP?
Pinkie is still her favorite character, and the funniest thing ever, though she's also liking Fluttershy and Discord these days. Other really funny things in Trixie's life are dogs, and getting kisses from me.
But, let's be honest, clearly Pinkie is her biggest influence. She's learning to play drums:

Wow, babies look a lot more adorable when they're not freshly born.
I mean my brother's wife had a baby back in... April, and my mom keeps texting me pictures but it just looks kind of weird to me.

(She actually shares a Birthday with Beatrix Potter, which is really weird because we'd been planning to name her Beatrix for months, and we'd never even looked at that.)

I am coming, I'll actually be on two panels (Romance Writing (with Sunchaser, Scoots2, and Aquaman) and Advanced Writing (with Bad Horse and Wanderer D.)
And I am bringing Trixie for at least one day (more, if she doesn't mind.) She'll have had most of her vaccinations by then, and she's been to weddings and stuff. My sister lives near by and we can stay with her, and Bradel has offered to let us use his room for laying her down for naps. So we're going to give it a shot.!

No idea. As with most things in our house, it belonged to someone we knew who sent it here to die. It dates to the brief period where they were making flat screen tube TVs, if that helps.

Well apparently her spacial reasoning kicks ass then, cause she can identify a normal picture.
Nah, what vantage point she watches from varies. At my mom's house from the arm of the couch she level with the TV and she can almost touch it, so she looks like she's trying to climb into Equestria.

Wrong coast, alas. Add airfare to the hotel, convention costs, and unpaid vacation time, and the costs just balloon. I've never attended a convention that wasn't within a one-day's drive of me (though I have in the past considered the 14 hours of Sacramento-to-Seattle to be a single day).
