It has shaped the way those of us with that heritage look at life and death in many ways, and most importantly on the remembrance of, and honoring the deceased. We traditionally decorate little altars dedicated to the memories of those that passed away… but it's not a somber occasion.

Well. Don't log in. This is a scam, and a cheap one at that.
There've been recent attempts to obtain Fimfiction users’ personal data, like passwords and/or emails through links like the one I'm making fun of above. And a distressing amount of people don't seem to know what phishing attempts are.
If you HAVE entered a site like this and put in your data, make sure to follow these basic steps at least.

This better clarifies our previously ill-defined hate speech rule and includes groups as well as individual attacks.

This includes past, present and potential future crimes.

First. Anyway, I wanna see Horror and Sci-Fi genres.
The ability to search my Read It Later list to where I could remove [Cancelled] stories easily.
Make "Last Updated" the default for browsing and for looking through favorites/etc. lists, or at least provide a setting that lets users set their own default for that. "Last posted" and "last added" are almost never helpful to me, and it's annoying to have to go into search mode every single time...
Sort Libraries Alphabetically.

Similar to the way you can toggle whether or not to view mature fiction or not, have individual options for each tag, so people that don't want to see Dark fiction won't have to.
A sci-fi tag would be nice.

I think a feature that will help is the ability to resurrect deleted stories manually. Especially when you PM a Mod and he or she doesn't do anything.
I'd love to have read/unread as a search criteria.
To have a books that you have read history because the ammount of times I look at a great story and forget to Fav is overwhelming.

Better customization of site's look... I licked older theme customization, what we have for reading is good, but When I try to use social functions of this site at night, the whiteness is burning my eyes...

A "FimFic light" button that turns off everything that makes the site look fancy and allows us access to a nice site about stories that doesn't need much resources.
As for a feature suggestion?
some more personal customization options would be nice. I've always had a soft spot for being able to personalise how a site looks for me.
A few new tags (stuff like 'sci-fi' and 'horror' and 'humanized') and perhaps the ability to put more then five characters in the character box under our fics

I'm apparently an unimaginative failure, because all I can think of is "text formatting in epub downloads working again", which I'm pretty sure is already in progress, since I have a vague recollection of it having only been "temporarily" disabled (although I'm not certain, since I couldn't find the source on that when I tried to find it again). If it's not in progress, though, that's my thing.

1. Better tagging system.
For both characters and genres. IE more tags such as Scy-Fi, Mystery, Other, etc. etc. and have characters added and taken out.

Side note it'd be nice to change the way chapter titles are. I enjoy the way the title autoloads in but many authors have already put title information into the chapter. What you get is the chapter just repeated twice.

I think that there should be a check box at the end of a chapter to mark it as read instead of marking it read as soon as you click on the chapter.
Well, you could strat by fixing so that the "unread chapters" function is actually working, as far from all the stories that get updated among my favourites is showed there like it is now!

Better search filters.
For example, I'd love a proper date range selector
, plus the ability to exclude certain characters, tags etc rather than simply include them. It would be really nice to be able to search for something like "Stories published between March and May 2014, featuring Rainbow and Fluttershy but not Rarity, with the Adventure tag but without the Human or Anthro tags."I'd also love, love, love the ability to filter out foalcon from search results without having to lose all Mature+Sex-tagged stories.EDIT: Okay, I'm an idiot and somehow forgot that you can exclude tags. (And this comment still got more upvotes than downvotes!) The rest still applies, though.
Oh, and making italics work in EPUBs again, since they're broken without that facility. It would actually be better to remove EPUB downloads altogether than to keep them in their current state. You can convert HTML to EPUB in Calibre, after all.
