For centuries, the legacy of the Alicorns has been a bittersweet memory of a time of harmony. A great cataclysm took them from the face of the planet, leaving their charges, the Avens, the Magi and the Earthlanders to tend to their shattered kingdom. They maintain a peace enforced by their continual need of support from one another, for providing something that one of the other tribes cannot provide.

However, centuries after the fall of the Alicorns, the cataclysm returns upon the eve of the Congregation, the annual meeting involving a chosen representative of each race to put on an appearance of harmony.

Lost, confused and in need of champions, the three races band together and send out their chosen champions to seek out the lost treasures of the Alicorns. The treasures that had been lost for so long that they were merely myth until a sliver of truth is found in their greatest time of need to point the way. These treasures could save them all, if the being behind the great cataclysm doesn't stop them first...

Hey, Spike here.

So you're probably wondering why I'm the one talking to you right now when this story mostly revolves around Twilight and Pinkie for, right? To be honest, it's Rarity's and mine as well. I won't keep you for long, I just thought I'd warn you is all. Yeah, warn you. There's more than a little drama that goes on, especially since this story involves two relatively clueless women in a relationship and they have to figure things out as they go. That's not to say that Rarity or I didn't help out, but there's only so much advice one can give when you're trying to figure things out as well. Please, don't judge us too harshly, we're new to this whole romance thing too and mistakes were bound to happen.

Not to sound cliche or anything, but love found a way. This is our story.

Notes: The legal drinking age in this story is 17.
Spike is two weeks shy of 17 in the first chapter.
The cast has been humanized. (Unicorns retain their usual magic, Pegasi have glyph wings that the can summon or disperse and "Terrans" have augmented strength and stamina beyond what they appear to have)

This is a story about the pony that is never there. He sees a lot of things and does a lot of things. What happens when he was there? What happens when somepony tries to find him? What would he say if they do find him and ask him why he is never there.

He would simply answer: Because I am Never There, I am always here.

Updates to character/genre tags will happen as the story progresses as this will span between seasons two and three. I just thought I should update this to reflect character knowledge and give you a better frame of time, especially since it will be a while before it ends :3

Seeking redemption in the service to Equestria's Princess of the Night, her life will be on the line and the lives of others in the balance, can Trixie find it in herself to do what has to be done to ensure the safety of her homeland and find the redemption she seeks?
